Supermarket buys that were much better than you expected
I recently bought a four-carton pack of prawn cocktails from Morrisons - the type which comes with two cartons of regular prawn cocktail and two cartons in a sweet chilli mayo. The make was "Big Prawn Co" - which I'd never heard of before.
I was really surprised at how lovely they were! The prawns were big with plenty of bite and the sauce rich and smooth. A great guilty snack! Have you ever bought anything from supermarkets which were of a surprisingly (in a good way of course) high quality? Share them here.

Every year I buy a few bottles of Tesco Finest Irish cream liqueur. Cheaper and nicer than Baileys.
Just as shame it never seems to be in stock during the rest of the year. |

ASDA's butchers selection (used to be extra special) Steak, after i got into steak properly i did my research online and everybody was like "supermarket meat is rubbish, get it from a good quality butcher" and that's what i did, bought from every local butcher in the area, sometimes paying a great amount of money for admittedly good quality meat, but i thought one day i'd try some ASDA steak, it was £8 for a peice of Ribeye which would have cost me around 20 smackers at the farmers shop and it was just as good, if not better, that was the biggest surprise.
