Smoked Salmon Rashers
Does anyone know where I can get smoked salmon rashers ?
We're not meat eaters but do eat fish and the salmon rashers are a really good substitute for bacon. The only place I can find them is from Regal Fish but they have to be ordered and delivered. I was hoping one of the supermarkets sold them. |

Sorry, I don't know where you can buy smoked salmon rashers. I have always treated smoked salmon like rashers when making salmon pasta dishes, salmon hash or eggs benedict, by cutting to desired shape and pan frying. It improves the texture of smoked salmon for those who dislike the slimy texture. Vacuum packed smoked salmon trimmings are an economical alternative for everyday non special occasions.

Thanks M.
I've never tried cooking the slimy stuff. I'll give that a try. I always keep a pack of smoked salmon flakes in the freezer for a change on kedgeree but they are the opaque ones. |
