I heard that the QS was sensational in dress rehearsal and then flopped live so the judges could be doing them a favour if they get it right though it is a much higher risk option than the choices for the others.

I tend to think whatever happens in the first dances a lot of voters will want to see Charleston and Paso again and know they have to vote them into the second show to get them. I wonder if Natalie might edge out Abbey for third place. Alijaz's music choice doesn't do it for me.

I imagine the song choice for Abbey's showdance is the producers. They have interfered already ruining Ashley's performances and making Mark the comedy donkey till he was eliminated. Maybe Abbey is next on the hit list. To ensure Natalie gets 3rd place.

It ridiculous that Natalie is most likely to get 4th. UK SCD viewers really are beyond words for me. If this was DWTS Natalie would win by a landslide cause American voters will vote for talent.

You'd think Natalie or Abbey would be out first as both have been in a dance-off.

BUT lots of new viewers probably come aboard the DanceBoat of Love for the Final so Gawd knows how they'll vote.

Bookies have Susanna as favourite and Abbey second.

It's up for grabs but I'll stick my neck out and go:
Natalie out 1st
Abbey 2nd
Susanna wins it from Sophie.

So there.

However, the judges only vote for guidance. The public vote is the only vote that counts. And Susanna seems to have a great deal of public support, even when her dances are not that good.

Lol No. This season on Dwts most of the best dancers were eliminated very early. And 2 of the mediocre dancers made the finale.

you obviously have not watched DWTS this year when the public voted best out before final

It's anyone's game. Abbey still has a very good chance of winning.

I agree that Sophie and Susanna have the advantage in that people may vote because they want to see the charleston/paso as well as them being the top 2 in the vote.

Indeed and not the first time it's happened either, although I wouldn't say either Bill or Jack was "mediocre", just not as technically able as Corbin or Amber.

Another perfect example of when a technically superior dancer, Elizabeth, simply did not captivate the viewing audience and her pro partnership didn't really work either due to height issues (imo).

BIB I have a sneaky suspicion that you may be right.

Sophie's charleston for a lot of people was the stand out performance of this series but we won't get to see it again unless she gets through to the final final. I suspect, therefore, that she will attract votes just from those who want to see her dance it again.

SCD has never been purely about talent. It's been about the popularity of the couples, how well the couples gel together, how much fun the couples are.

DWTS is DWTS, with an American audience (and from some reports seems to be choc full with props and sometimes replaces dance steps with "wow" steps).

SCD is SCD, with a UK audience (thankfully im my view)

DWTS's version of some of the 10 Dances bare very little resemblance to what they should be, they also include jazz, contemporary, Charleston, freestyle etc, to pad out the "actual" ballroom/latin dances. Their routine length is also shorter.

I was pretty confident Ashley would make the final so I don't think my predictions are of much value.

I hope it isn't as predictable as Natalie 4th, Abbey/Sophie 3rd/2nd, Susanna 1st. My biggest gripe with this series has been the predictability of it.

If indeed they do vote of course. Some will, some won't. And would they vote multiple times anyway? It's an unknown quantity really.

Sorry that's not true, on DWTS nearly always the best dancer always wins. Shawn Johnson / Nicole / Melissa Rycroft etc would have been blasted as Ringers if they where SCD contestants. It sad but true. The UK audience just like giving average winners.

BIB And the thing is I shared the public opinion because I was so happy that they made the finale. I couldnt connect with the best dancers (Elisabeth, Christina...). Its a shame that Snooki went early though.

Edy I was on the DWTS forum too lol

I agree, that year was just a whole set up for Amber Riley to win.

My point is if you look at the DWTS winners they are clearly better winners compared to SCD.

So rather similar to SCD then in that it doesn't occur every series.

No. I disagree.

This is an entertainment show and a " dancing " competition. Imo the best dancer doesnt have to win but the dancer who captured the audience the most, that is the reality.

If Susanna wins, I wouldn't think that Natalie was robbed because at the end of the day it's a popularity contest .Shrug.

Me too. I think Steppin Out will be a very popular showdance song (Tom Chambers-esque) and could easy lift Natalie to 2nd or 3rd spot as she picks up the casual viewer/voter support. Abbey and Sophie have awful showdance tunes and I think their fans will be battling to keep them out of 4th place. One may lose.

I also think the Cha Cha to Rasputin is a good choice for Nartem. Wardrobe have a chance to redeem themselves for that horrible get up they made Art wear and which distracted me (and many others, as I recall) from the dance.

you cannot compare DWTS to SCD though - from the contestants they pick to the American audiences give me good old Brit ones every time

I think the judges are choosing who goes out first.
