Since there is an overrated dances thread, I thought there should be a counter balance thread for the underrated dances. Use this thread to list any dances that you felt were underrated, undermarked or unappreciated throughout this series.

I'll list mine later on.

Sophie & Brendans Charleston deserved 10s

Sophie and Natalie waltzes. They're very underrated imo.Absolutely stunning and gorgeous routines.

Abbey foxtrot and paso.

Abbey quickstep because it was actually very, very good minus the gapping and elbow. One of the fastest QS I've ever seen, lol.

Mark and Iveta tango.

That's pretty much it for now.

Nice thread Op

No idea what the scores were, but these are all routines I appreciated much more on second viewing:

Sophie's Rumba
Abbey's Paso and Tango.
Ben's Rumba
Patrick's Cha Cha (wish we'd seen the original not-broke hand routine)

Sophie & Brendan's Rumba - not given the marks it deserved at all.

Even though I'm a Sophie fan, I do think that's the most undermarked dance this series.

I'll plump for the dances I think should have been remembered better than those that should have been scored better. Ashley's American Smooth, Mark's Waltz and Fiona's Charleston come to mind.

Yeah, it had a lovely vulnerability about it. It may have been similar to Abbey's week one performance, where nerves and shyness at the doing of it publicly enhanced the connection between the partners, but as a viewer I don't care where the impetus comes from as long as it works. I was very surprised with the judges that night, so I won't disagree with it being the most undermarked dance of the series. (Psst, what did it score?).

31 if I'm not mistaken. Yes I think that it was undermarked.

I'm glad that Aljaz is going to include elements of Paso and Tango in their showdance

My absolute favourite dance of the series was Patrick's Halloween Quickstep. It was a really full-on, to hell with it routine, but was still recognisable as a classic Quickstep. I think some of his routines got lost among those done by more popular dancers. I also loved Ben's Salsa and Rumba as it's good to see dancers exceed your expectations even if they are not the best in the competition.

I think Abbey is my winner, but I find it amusing that you can dispute a score of 37 for the above. I think she is the biggest improver, a bloody lovely girl, and my choice for winner btw.

And I also love Natalie. Just to be really clear, my faves are Abbey AND Natalie - not to you Edy, to all the snarks

Although it's not my absolute favourite, it's up in the top five, I absolutely loved it and have watched it again a few times.

I have to say, personally, I don't really think any routine this year has been particularly under marked, not by any dramatic amount anyway.

Ashley's Salsa, Samba and Waltz

Sophie's Viennese Waltz, Tango, Argentine Tango, Paso Doble, American Smooth

Abbey's Tango

Natalie's Samba (she got top marks on everything else so can't really say she was under marked!)

Susanna's Waltz

Susanna's waltz should have got 10s in my opinion.

Sophie's rumba for me too, in fact I felt so strongly about it being under marked I voted for her that week (the first time I'd voted for anyone this series) and have continued to vote for her every week since.

I really liked Abbey's quickstep. I am not sure if it was under marked or not. I can't remember the marks even during the show let alone weeks later.

For me the one that DS didn't like that I thought was great was Patricks samba. It has a tradition of being fairly poor especially from the men and I thought he did a fantastic job and kept going so well when Anya's heel got caught.

I loved his samba as well. I enjoyed most of Patrick's routines but his quickstep was outstanding.

I'm going to say Abbey's tango as well simply because if she performed that same exact routine 3 or 4 weeks later, she would have received at least 2 10s and deservedly so. The only reason why she scored 35 was because it was only week 4 imo, still early in the competition. I remember Flavia and Vincent raving about it on CC.
That tango remains the best tango of this serie imo.

And yes I'm still fuming at Darcey 8 !!!

This just about sums it up for me too

I hadn't been watching the series as it went along, so I watched Abbey's rumba on YouTube.

I'm no expert in Latin but I thought it was gorgeous and worked with the Halloween theme.

"I engage with the Snark—every night after dark—
In a dreamy delirious fight:
I serve it with greens in those shadowy scenes,
And I use it for striking a light:
