Thanks. They mainly sound manageable, especially the 2nd and 3rd clips. I find a clear, not too busy, beat helps more than a slow tempo. I particularly like the cuban clip and the last one (basically the ones that are filmed open air/in the street in casual dress).

I'm afraid it isn't even rueda. Completely choreographed for a showcase we're doing, with some cha cha too. I can't pretend it is remotely approaching authentic and I wouldn't normally do formation ballroom either (it is very home counties) but this is just for fun. However we wont be wearing naff dresses like that second clip.

Why does that man take his shirt off in the 2nd to last clip? I would find that rather distracting!

Yes strange. Sometimes the leaders / those calling the rueda will wear a somewhat distinctive shirt - or perhaps in this case nothing?

Micaela is one of my favorite salsa songs.
Sonora Carruseles - Micaela Live
http://youtu.be/tgLakPetD7Y

It kicks off with "Ooh ah - Ooh ah - Ooh ah" so shades of Ooh Ah Cantona for blokish blokes to get involved.

If you are looking for formation salsa ideas check youtube for

MBAT Salsa

http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...at+salsa&sm=12

MBAT is an annual tournament held in Paris with teams from a score or so of Business Schools competing in a score or so of sports including (formation) Salsa Dancing.

Yes, I like the Sonora Carruseles video. Not sure if it is the song I like or their rendition. Maybe a combination.

Other videos are interesting, although I draw the line at wearing a fluffy black tail and laying down on the floor!

Yes I spotted the fluffy tail and lying on the floor That got a lot of wooting from the audience. They are even noisier than a 10 dance competition.

The fluffy tailed girls will all have their MBA certificates scanned into their iPads and be leading company directors in a few years time .... Great fun and still very raucous it seems.
