Anyone else having problems with the Asda switchover to EE. I asked for my old number to be switched over, they told me 3 to 5 days. A few days later I couldn't make calls or send texts but could still receive them on the new temp number. Five days of phone calls later I'm told it will be TWO weeks before I am likely to recieve any service. This means the whole of Christmas without a phone. Their solution was for me to buy a temporary phone, which I guess I'll have to do.

Not happy. Has anyone else had this happen to them.

There's a lot about this on other forums, strangely not mentioned on here yet. It does seem there have been quite a few issues with the change. At best, it seems to take longer than promised and some people have been left without incoming calls for a while.

I'd make a complaint to Ofcom. That's very shoddy service, I hope they're going to cover the cost of that temp phone and chuck compo on top.

Asda sent me a new EE SIM as I had previously been with them, although I was now on GiffGaff. They attempted the number port from GiffGaff on 10th Dec. Since then I have no service either in or out. Have phoned many times, never getting a commitment on when it will be resolved or how much compensation will be paid. On top of that, the advice is to not attempt a port out of Asda to another provider as they can't guarantee that will work until my number is successfully porting into Asda.
I am fuming; I've been without a mobile during a time when a close friend has died of cancer, and while trying to make arrangements for family to visit from overseas for xmas.
Ofcom guidance (not sure if its legislation) is that providers must compensate customers if the port takes longer than one working day. I will be asking for $10 per each calendar day of outage, plus an amount on top of that for my time and cost in 0845 calls to them.
Angry, livid, fuming - what a bunch of incompetent idiots.

I've heard the problem at Vodafone should be sorted next week, the ports will then start to go through properly. Some may fail and to be resubmitted (manually I assume) again.

Not quite sure why there would be an issue with Giffgaff ports as there is no reported issues between EE>O2/GG and vice versa at the moment. I guess you would want £ rather than $

True. My keyboard has no pound sign.

I had the opposite problem.

After an update on my Swiftkey keyboard they removed the $ sign and now I can't type my password. Thankfully I could just revert using TB.

To be honest the service is a joke when you do swap over anyway. Trying to browse on the internet is beyond a joke, so many sites classed as over 18's sites only.

Facbook Mobile website - Over 18's
Twitter Mobile website - Over 18's
Planefinder App - Keeps moaning no data on Asda but works fine on wi-fi and a three sim in the same phone, so I assume also blocked!!

Just been on the phone to them and I've just been told that to gain access to these sites I need to go to my local Asda store with ID to prove that I'm over 18 and they will get the block lifted from there. Even the guy on the phone was confused why these sites were sitting behind the content filter. Looks like the new Asda Mobile is going to be a massive success once all the teenagers can't reach the mobile versions of facebook and twitter.

Well this so called service on Asda is now a joke since the network change.

Firstly the adult content filter is still blocking sites that have nothing to do with adult content at all. The latest one I've found is the money saving expert forum is behind the filter.

I did go into my local Asda store to try and get the adult content filter lifted. they informed me in store that loads of people had been in complaining about it. They called Asda mobile from the store and informed them that I'm well over 18 years old and I was assured the content block would be lifted within 24 hours. That was on 23/12/13 and it still hasn't been done.

It's also taking anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes to log onto the 3g network now as well. A total joke the whole so called service is at the moment.

I am finally back on the network after being without Asda service throughout Christmas and New Year. I had to buy a temp mobile for this period. Would not recommend AsdaMobile to anyone now after been impressed by the service for the 5 years or so that I've had it.

Yes I have had exactly the same problems. I am moving from Asda (Vodafone) to the Asda (EE Network) so I put my new sim card in Sunday 29th Dec 2013. I have been without my old number since Sunday 29th Dec and still waiting for the port to complete.

They gave me £5 free credit for this unacceptable delay. There is some kind of issue getting the files from Vodafone to complete these ports.

Very unhappy with the service received and Asda Mobile is not recommended.

Asda Mobile have two call centres

Vodafone Call Centre - Glasgow
EE Call Centre - Doxford Call Centre - Sunderland.

I have the details of a Manager and his direct number if anybody wants this. He is now dealing with my problem and assures me that the port will complete today.

My Asda mobile has finally switched from over to ASDA EE - Awful customer service but it is working now.
