Dmr Xw-380 DL disk writing
Hi
I have a panasonic dmr xw-380 the dvd writer box. How do i write to a dual layer dvd? the box asked me to format the disk to use it, so i did and the capacity was that of a single layer dvd. so how do i get it to see the whole disk? thanks, ian |

What type of disks are you trying to format? According to the manual it only formats DVD +R DL Quote:
Formatting Manual download hereFormatting is the process of making media such as DVD-RAM recordable on recording equipment. You can format DVD-RAM, DVD-RW (only as DVD-Video format), +RW, SD cards and the HDD or unused +R and +R DL on this unit. Formatting permanently deletes all contents. http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_G...trackInfo=true Not sure what it would do if you tried to format a -R DL disk or even if it would offer the option. If you are using +R DL disks then it could be either a dodgy batch of disks or the machine is iffy. For example it's not detecting the disk type properly or a laser problem is preventing it switching to the second layer. |

The disks are Verbatim DVD+R DL, and work perfectly in my pc dvd drive, so i don't think the disks are faulty.
The machine is detecting them, as it says DVD+R DL in the status/info box on screen. I'll have to have another try with them, as it was a couple of weeks ago i was trying to sort it. |
