Was looking at upgrading to a bigger tv/smart etc and saw a nice looking LG one with a good spec and price. My question is, does anyone else have an LG tv? How long have you had it? Any issues?

Never had an LG tv before.

Cheers

To be honest LCDs are a lottery no matter who you go with.

I had two LG LCD TVs, one developed banding after a year, and the other one had a sound defect from the headphone socket.

LG's customer services were terrible when dealing with the headphone socket issue. Kept saying it was because I had cheap headphones. Even though I told them it was a design fault with the TV, and that it happened on the shop model, and with expensive headphones too.

So I swapped for a Samsung TV which so far has been good. But it has juddering if you use enhancements like motion lighting.

I'd go to a shop with a good exchange policy (such as Richer Sounds) and try one out.

My LG plasma is now 8yrs old and still going, I also have an LG LED which is 2yrs old, no problems, my sons LG must be 5-6 yrs old and has never had any issues with it.

As with all makes, there will be some that develop faults/have problems, for peace of mind try and get an extended warranty thrown in for the same price, John Lewis prices mostly include a 5yr warranty and Richer Sounds normally have a extended warranty for very little extra.

Brilliant advice there folks, cheers.

Yeah I know John Lewis are the best to buy from with the 5yr warranty for free.

Thanks again

I've had three LG TV's and the only reason I've had for changing any is to upgrade features/facilities. Never had a serious problem with any of them.

One thing I would say. My latest LG and one my mum bought (different model to mine) both had the same poor set-up out of the box. Made everyone look like they had a bad spray on tan! But once tweaked the picture quality is very good. But you might not think so the very first time you turn it on. Unless you like every programme to look like an episode of TOWIE that is

We had a thread last week I think it was and I recommended the LG42LN575V, but any one in the 575V range should be equally as good. I had a demo from Richer Sound and there was a whole wall of TVs with the same feed. Apart from the Samsung F7000 the LG was equally as good as the rest of them, except it was some £200 less than the cheapest one, and considerably cheaper than some of them.

The 575V series has had rave reviews on the picture quality. It hasn't got 3D though.

A mate bought the 42 inch LG from J Lewis (£430) and it was delivered this morning. He said the delivery guys were very helpful, carried the box inside, unpacked the TV and gave him a hand putting the base on. They 'phoned an hour before and said roughly when they were coming.
