The Sins of our Fathers (Mothers)

I am sure I am not alone but I must admit that I do take into account any influencing parents/spouses when deciding on who to vote for.

Celebs like Penny Lancaster who had tremendous support from Rod Stuart who in turn carried great weight in the show biz world immediately turn me against them as some of the Judges (future employment dependent on keeping them happy) are so obviously intimidated by them.

This year it is the turn of Sophie “Ellis” Baxter to get my thumbs down due to the unfortunate fact of having Janet Ellis as her mother. It’s a bit like Lewis Hamilton and his father, hence the title. Some parents simply cannot let go and no, it’s not support it is an overwhelming desire to live their lives through their children. Janet Ellis is almost the most obnoxious women I have ever watched or listened to (1st place to Yasmin Alibhai-Brown). Also of course, Sophie has no connection/chemistry with Brendan despite his insistence that she is the greatest thing since sliced bread but unfortunately, she looks like a new born giraffe when dancing.

So, as I am only human it is nul points for the Preying Mantis.

But at least I am honest.

I am not voting Sophie, I am supporting Susanna, but wouldn't it be lovely if at least on the eve of the final we could have a day of just enjoying ourselves and have no new threads bashing ANY of the finalists?

What a thoroughly nasty thread.

Completely agree. It would be great to have a day without the nasty threads.

It amazes me that anyone who finds the term MILF unacceptable thinks calling someone a Preying Mantis fine.

I wasn't keen on Peter Crouch last night, that didn't make me like Abbey less. Bizarre.

edit: mis-read the first bit

And of course, you could have been 'honest' without resorting to insults. But that wouldn't get as much of a reaction, would it?

I'm glad my 10 year old grandson hasn't read this unpleasant opening post, but he's too busy laughing at the fact that his best friend's daddy thinks that his 56 year old granny (me) has still 'got it'

I thought F-P said that family members do influence her voting.

Strange idea, though.

Perhaps my eyesight was temporarily compromised by the mud that was being slung

Well, if you will allow your grandchildren to have unsupervised access to internet forums where adults say not very nice things, I'm afraid he's going to pick up some nasty words

Is it any wonder that the OP doesn't understand why threads get closed. Yes there is a big difference between being honest & just plain rude, it's called manners.

I thought 'new born giraffe' was funny though.

And I don't think there's anything there to warrant a thread closure. And I quite like Sophie.

Very well said.

Can some of you guys, stop to be "nasty" just for today and try to wish everyone the best ???
Didn't we have enough threads like these during the serie ???

Apparently Not. Smh.

I wish Susanna, Abbey, Natalie and Sophie all the very best tomorrow and I hope that each one of them perform to the best of their abilities.

C'mon this is the last day until the finale .
