4G coverage not on map
I have not long got a Nexus 5 on O2 4G, and have only had 4G where the coverage map has said. Until that was I was driving through parts of Brighton, I saw 4G on my screen.
Guessing it is part of O2 getting ready or testing 4G for when they do avertise it out, but was still a happy suprise as I am in Brighton alot. Got me thinking if anyone else has spotted 4G in places not advertised. |

Most networks have a coverage map update schedule that might be every month, 3 months, 6 months etc..
There is bound to be coverage in places not on the map because of this. EE seem to have started updating their map more often but there are many many places with 4G not on the map. |

Yeah, I figured as much.
But even then there's a load more switched on than is showing on the map. Good to see a bit of blue/green down my way at last though. No Sign of anything in Totnes yet. It's possible I may end up in Exeter tomorrow so I'll check that out as well. |

Mmmmm exciting times.
I wonder what Sodafone/O2 are up to... ... Interesting. Vodafone seem to think they have complete 4G coverage along the M8 between Edinburgh and Glasgow, and the M9, something EE haven't managed despite having a year's headstart in both cities. Course, that's if you actually believe their coverage maps. Actually if you look more closely at Vodafone's maps, their planned coverage is a lot worse than their current coverage, missing large parts around Falkirk and West Calder. I wonder if they mixed the two up... |

I seem to remember reading before hat O2/Vodafone have no plans to launch 4G in NI until at least 2015, the same with 3. Is this still the case? Just curiosity at the minute but when the S5 comes out next year I will be very tempted to upgrade early to it but will hold off if O2/Vodafone will have Belfast 4G by my proper upgrade time of September. I'm fairly sure EE will be better even if they are here by September but always worth checking given you're tied for 2 years!
Vodafone appear to have done very little in NI in 2013, O2 have been slowly rolling out 3G 900Mhz to rural areas and for capacity and indoor coverage in urban areas which I imagine they will continue to do in early 2014. |
