Was that one of the grestest wnning people over series ever ?

I quite liked her personality in Hell's Kitchen, but so much more now. Many weren't sure, hmm, model, WAG, relatively early on in the dance off.

DS is not always exactly representative, but you could see how she rose in polls here.

You won over the people, Abbey ( OK, any pedants, I don't mean everyone ) with your enthusism, your great dancing, just so improved, and how you so bought into the competition.

At first her Scouse accent put me off, and she was an okay dancer, and I thought Rachel was prettier. But about 4 weeks ago, probably when she got her 40, she turned me into a supporter. Her performance level took off towards the end, and although she was not as good as Natalie technically, I just preferred her energy and joy in dancing. II actually thought her accent was endearing towards the end. How about that for a transformation. She also seems a very genuine and sweet girl, which I began to appreciate recently.

Very glad to know that DS is not representative of the outside world. She has definitely won over people with her joy of dancing.

Yes she did, I must admit to having pre-concieved ideas about Abby but her enjoyment of the show won me over, tho to be honest I would have been happy for any of the final four to have won.

I didn't like her one bit to start with she jumps around and shrieks like a 5 year old which is very annoying. But when it came to the dancing she just went for it. I am pleased she won as there was very little between them at the end but she was still annoying!

By tonight I even started to like the accent

I expected her to be lazy and to be a prima donna but she proved me wrobg. Loved her dancing from the beginning and very happy she won.

Abbey is a nice girl, and though I am disappointed Natalie didn't win, Abbey was certainly next best deserving winner.

Would have really thought it a travesty if Susannah had won.

Maybe she wasn't as unpopular as people on DS made out or maybe her dancing and attitude won people over and this is what enabled her to overhaul Susanna who seemed unassailable until tonight?

If winning Strictly is all about posturing and lifts then Abbey won by a mile.
Worst of the 4 finalists for me. I obviously don't agree with the majority of the 6 million votes. If it wasn't rigged.

Never heard of her before the first show of the series.
Disliked her limp smoochy style of dancing/walking from partway into her first dance (supposedly a waltz) and never saw anything to change my mind throughout the series.

Delighted for her.I knew she was growing in popularity these last few weeks but I never thought she could win. Brilliant surprise.

Another good thing is If either Susanna or Natalie won we would be forever have to listen to the BBC fix/ Ringer nonsense.

Where is the Glitterball going ?

Abbey announced that she would give it to Aljaz, when touting for votes - on winning, she said that her daughter would be claiming it

After tonight I wouldn't have minded a Susanna or Natalie win. At least their routines didn't consist of clumsy trotting, posing and lifts.

Are you sure you haven't got Susanna and Abbey confused?

Each of them gets a Glitterball, so both Abbey and Aljaz will have their own Glitterballs.

At first I was constantly annoyed by Abbey, she kept catching herself in the monitors on the mezzanine and flicking her hair and pouting. It really rubbed me up the wrong way.

But over the weeks, her apparent vanity gave way to a love of dancing and her hard work and dedication really won me over. Now I realise she's actually quite a nervous, fidgety and sincere girl who just wanted to make the best impression, and her hair flicking etc was just nerves and trying desperately hard not to look stupid on TV. She ended up striking me as a really endearing character, so I'm really pleased she's gone all the way to win it.

I'd be happy to see more Abbey Clancy on my TV as a consequence of Strictly.

The OP is so correct here - to go from being in the dance off so early on the competition, to becoming the winner of the whole competition is quite incredible. Especially when we have heard all these rumours about Susannah getting more than twice the public votes than her nearest rival (which wasn't even abbey), this has been such a huge turnaround. I am still shocked that abbey managed to gain more votes tonight than Susannah, not because she didn't deserve to, but because so many of the public have negative pre-conceptions about footballers wives and also of Liverpudlians. Abbey has done everyone proud, and broken down some of these pre-conceptions by being a genuine and hard-working woman.

I have enjoyed watching abbey more and more over the past 4 weeks, she has become such a joy to watch as you could see the improvement every week. And her partnership with aljaz is quite possibly the most electric I have ever seen on this show. What an amazing result tonight, and a worthy winning team. Well done A team!!

No they were as bad as each other in different ways. Sophie and Natalie were the best two for me tonight.
Strictly will be yesterday's news with this win fairly quickly.

She certainly didn't win me over, can't stand the girl. The voice is like nails on glass. Her whole attitude was that she had won the comp before she even got in the final, her wag friends and friend of Crouch probably had her number on redial, so it was a forgone conclusion she would win, she was an ok dancer, but not a patch on Natalie.

At least it's genuine excitement unlike the stage school looks of surprise, hands to mouth etc. which drive me mad. Even young children are copying it now.

Natalie's few fans have really had their faces rubbed in it tonight. Get over it, Natalie wasn't popular, she was already a trained dancer and there was no chemistry between her and Artem. Why should the public vote for her.
