Yawn.

....hmm or I'd suggest it rather more likely ( well extremely more likely, touching on obvious, to be honest ) that quite simply a hell of a lot of folk felt similar to the majority of folk that have so far posted in this thread.

Nothing wrong at all in wanting Natalie to win, but try having a modicum of respect and understanding for all the folk that voted for Abbey.

I thought Abbie deserved to win she improved so much over the weeks and she really seemed to enjoy herself. I wasn't too sure of her at first but she grew on me. She was very childlike in her emotions and I would think she is full on most of the time and must drive Peter to distraction at times. I found her hard work some nights with her whooping and yelling but she is still so you.
From the start I thought Natalie was the winner, as she had so much elegance. I think her constance weeping my have lost her a few notes tonight and perhaps some of the Tyrone fans still have it in for her.
I would have preferred to lose Suzanna instead of Sophie as I felt that Sophie was far more talented than Suzanna and Sophie and Brendan's showdance so much more polished. Maybe her votes came from the Breakfast viewers. Loved it that Peter got there for the end.

Abbey overcame any notion that she was only famous for being a footballers wife and any notion that being a model was not a 'proper job'. Not only that she overcame a relatively early appearance in the bottom two.
Quite an achievement.
She got gradually stronger both physically and mentally throughout and saved her best dances for the semi final and final.
If you are going to perform well there is no better time to do it than at the business end of a competition. She expressed herself through her dancing better than the rest and this combined with a pretty genuine demeanour I think won a lot of people over.
I must admit however this was the one result I never expected and I was initially shocked.
Natalie was a great technician but technique is not everything. Public enjoyment of a dance is decided by a lot more than just technical mastery.

I thought her and Artem were good together, trouble is many people wait to hear if it is on or off with him and Kara. I think he is very dedicated to his partners if he thinks they are trying. If not then it might be llike Siberia between them. Thought it was a nice gesture to give their partners presents.
I just got fed up with length of the programme tonight and the constant telling viewers why they wanted to win.

Why so mean? Natalie came joint 2nd, so she clearly has lots of fans and that is despite all the negative publicity about her already being a trained dancer. I do agree that Natalie's prior training gave her an unfair advantage, she was in a much higher league and miles ahead of the rest from start to finish! You are also right about Natalie's fans having their faces rubbed in it ... I have had my face thouroughly rubbed in Natalie's awesome dancing tonight and for the whole series and it has been utterly divine! Abbey was a deserving winner of this celebrity show, but best dancer she was not.

Well said! I'm not a fan of the show and only watched the final due to all the press snipets of how great this Abbey character was etc.... In all honesty, dancing wise, there was only one winner and that was Natalie.

I completely agree to be honest, Abbey didn't do anything to warrant her win imo.

It's a tough one because I'm not keen on Wags and I'm not keen on Abbey. A vain and vacuous person before the show, I didn't see anything to change my mind on the show.
However, she was the rightful winner because she had a love of dance, total commitment and was a joy to watch. Her partnership with Alijaz was enthralling. No wonder her husband dashed to the final .

Natalie showed a love of dance but something in Artem seemed to shrink this year. Something about the partnership was not working. No doubt we will find out why later on.

Susannah came across badly in the final. Not only was she the worst dancer, but her constant fawning over Kevin was irritating and came across as vote pushing. Her dances were miles below all the other girls in terms of ability.

Well done Abbey. An achievement indeed.

That seems a little harsh to me.

I've never been happier to have been completely wrong about someone. When the line up was announced I expected to dislike Abbey, but have instead found myself liking her more and more as the series progressed.

I loved her enthusiasm and her sheer joy of dancing
Well done Abbey and Alijaz

I would have been happy for either Abbey or Natalie to lift the trophy as, from my untrained point of view, they were clearly the best dancers. Abbey did lift it, so I am happy. The fact that Natalie had a head start with her previous training worked against her and brought her a lot of (undeserved, in my opinion) criticism in these forums. A Susanna or Sophie victory would have seemed hollow to me. I have nothing against either of them, but neither ever managed the level of performance that Abbey and Natalie produced. Technically, Natalie was the better of the two, but Abbey had the journey and that is what made the difference in the end.

Finally, a word for Aljaż. In his first season, he took a young woman, with no previous experience, and turned her into the champion. That is no mean achievement and underlines what an outstanding dancing teacher he must be.

I am still shocked that abbey managed to gain more votes tonight than Susannah, not because she didn't deserve to, but because so many of the public have negative pre-conceptions about footballers wives and also of Liverpudlians. Abbey has done everyone proud, and broken down some of these pre-conceptions by being a genuine and hard-working woman.

I have enjoyed watching abbey more and more over the past 4 weeks, she has become such a joy to watch as you could see the improvement every week. And her partnership with aljaz is quite possibly the most electric I have ever seen on this show. What an amazing result tonight, and a worthy winning team. Well done A team!!”

Very lovely post

I would have voted for either Darcy or Abby's mum - but neither were in the final!!

It takes some seriously hard work to get to the final and Abby (like many others never heard of her before) came across as both a serious contender and nice personality. Well done!

I fully expected to dislike Abbey (and I'm a Scouser) - having a hatred for WAG culture etc, but I must admit to being pleasantly surprised by her - she came across as a very open person and far more 'down to earth' than I'd expected. I'm glad she won.
