dog getting turned on by kitten

Our staffy is currently in season. She normally babies our kittens but since being in season she keeps pestering them, when she gets their attention and they start rubbing around her head and chest, she will become all still and lift and curl her tail to the side and bulge her muffin out. Has any one experienced this before or is our fog strange.

No your dog is not strange, she's displaying normal and natural behaviour for an in season dog at the height of her heat cycle. Rubbing up against her is what a dog would do in a courting ritual, if its the right time and the female is receptive, she will then stand for the dog. It is the way breeders can tell if their ready to breed or not, and is a perfectly natural action. Your dog is quite likely substituting your kittens for a partner as best she can, out of frustration, because her body and nature will be telling her to find a mate, and even if she can't, she will still act out the natural responses because she can't help it. If you don't want her behaving like this, you would be best having her spayed before her next cycle.

Can I also add remove the kittens until she is out of her season too as she could hurt them badly if she tries to mate with them, and that could easily happen.

Are you planing on breeding her?

I hope not. There are enough staffies out there homeless. Dogs trust in Leeds have now stopped taking them in (for a while anyway)

Enough staffies out there homeless, but still people want to buy puppies, so enough people will continue to breed them. It's all about the money. If they cared about the welfare of the dog/cat they would get them neutered. Not breed them and sell to all and sundry.
