Hi

Looking to get a small cheep tablet and see that tesco have their tablet back in stock.

I have club card boosts so can get it for £90. But is there any tablet about £90 that is any better?

Thanks

There are broad equivalents available, e.g. the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7" 8GB White Tablet http://www.tesco.com/direct/samsung-...t/406-7562.prd and you could probably get a Tesco points discount and there are more tablets to look at here: http://www.tesco.com/direct/technolo...+to++%C2%A3120

I suppose you could consider a Kindle but it uses a more heavily customised version of the Android operating system and it does tend to lock you in to all things Amazon whereas a general tablet like the Hudl (lightly customised) or the Samsung Galaxy Tab gives you more freedom and choice. In any event, I wouldn't go any lower than an Archos or Versus tablet and, based on reviews and complaints, I'd steer clear of GoClever products.

The only final thing I would suggest is looking at actual customer reviews and not just the technical reviews as that's a good way of separating out the cherries from the lemons.

The only problem with buying from Currys is their returns policy. As soon as you open the box it cannot be returned unless faulty, whereas Tesco will replace or refund with no questions asked

The Samsung tab 3 is pretty poor spec wise in comparison to the hudl, it's tech is a couple of years out of date.

Hudl....................Tab 3

Quad core cpu: Dual core cpu

16gb storage: 8gb storage

1400x900 screen res: 1024x600 screen res

just a few comparison points, for the same money I dont think you can get a better spec'd tablet than the hudl

Although as Voynich points out if you can get a Tegra for about that price they are a good tablet

Yeah I wouldn't go for the Galaxy tab. The specs are not that great When compared to other devices in the same price range. In some cases I think that specs don't matter but here they do. I played with one the other day in a shop and it was laggy. This was a demo version, with nothing on it. It would be even worse once you load it up with all your apps.

I've just bought an original nexus 7, for £99 from carphone warehouse. It's probably not as good as that huddle in terms of specs but its close enough.

The Lidl Trekstor (Quad core 8 GB HDMI) came at £89 including a 2 year guaranty which costs £29.99 for the Hudl.

I doubt there are any left so it might be a theoretical question.
