Please identify : early 90s : L. I. S .A., L. I. S. A
It was around 1993 I think, a smooth dancey-pop kind of thing and all I can remember was the lady spelling out her name twice as part of the chorus, L. I. S. A., L. I. S. A.
Tried researching Lisa Stansfield, but no joy there ![]() Identify this one and I'm a happy bunny! I meant to take a look at the CD in the bar at the time but didn't get around to it. It's puzzled me ever since. It was on the radio once or twice, so nothing too obscure, just one of those things that escaped me somehow. Seasons Greetings |

It's not part of Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam 'I Wonder If I take You Home', AFAIK.
So, not sure. Lisa-Lisa and Cult Jam - I Wonder If I Take You Home (Extended Version) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UE4WokN5Z6s |

The only other music artist I can think of right now, being called Lisa, is Lisa Keith who did backing vocals on Alexander O'Neal's song Criticize, for example.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisa_Keith Sorry, I can't be of more help. Alexander O'Neal - Criticize (Extended Version) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCoADsmJjvg Both of the above songs came out in the 80's anyway. ETA. Seasons greetings to you too. |

They sing Lisa Lisa in the chorus of "There's Something Jumping" by Malcom Mclaren which was out in 89 or could it be LSI by the Shamen which came out in 92 - not strictly Lisa but close enough!!!

Found it! Thanks everyone, turns out it was
Lisa Lisa - Skip To My Lu from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LL77 (1994) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYQ0poq11as Doesn't actually ring a bell if I'm honest, but the descending pitch L.I.S.A.s are all I remember.... bit embarrassing now TBH! Well, the bassline is kind of OK, I can imagine why it impressed me at the time in the bar with a good subwoofer ![]() Thanks, always good to have a longstanding mystery solved by The Internet! Merry Christmas |
