Geri Halliwell's upcoming UK and Ireland tour (the first in her solo career) has been axed due to poor ticket sales. She didnt' manage to sell out a single venue across the UK and Ireland. Her record label at Innocent Records are sending Gezza back to the recording studio to come up with some better tracks for her new album.

Geri's only released one single from her new material, however Innocent Records are not happy with the the album as a whole and want Geri to continue recording some new tracks. The tour was to coincide with Geri's album release in March.

Did anyone else see this coming? I knew there was no way she'd sell out any of her venues, well whatever about the UK venues but I knew she'd never sell out the Point Depot in Dublin.

Geri should stick to G.A.Y. and leave the Point Depot and similar venues to the real Queens of Pop ala Kylie Minogue.

She was supposed to play in Aberdeen and had only sold 10% of the available tickets.

Time for her to realise she will never make it big again?

At least Kylie was coming out with half decent stuff when she was going through her bad spell.

Yeh true, she should cut her and realise she'll never be a big star like she was with the Spice Girls. She's done well but her popularity is waning like Mel C's did.

Seen that coming for years, ever since she quit the Spice Girls.

Comes as no surprise at all.

Dont get why any of the ex Spices are still trying to be taken seriously as solo artists.

Lets face it, thee were 5 of the luckiest girsl in the world to have the breaks and success they did with their limited talent. I'm not knocking what the Spice Girls did. At the time they were the biggest thing around and they played the game very well. But they always were image over substance.

They all made a LOT of cash in a very short time. Sit back girls and enjoy the rest of your lives in peace and quiet.

And 10% of not many tickets is crap. There's a bit about it in the Evening Depressed tonight.

True, this trying to cling to careers is quite tragic really, I loved them and I dont like seeing them reduced to what they are now.

I guess though once you've had that high you'll do anything to try and recreate it.
