And why do people keep saying "so and so is available on Netflix?"
The website itself doesn't really give you any information. just say £5.99 per month.

In simple terms it's a on demand video service you pay £5.99p/m to watch unlimited content on Netflix from tv shows to movies to Netflix own content.
Orange is the new black is a excellent Netflix exclusive show.
Why not try it out you get a free months trial if you don't like it cancel it within 30 days of signing up.

Can you cancel the subscription at any time or are you bound by a contracted period?

I'v had Netflix, You can cancel at anytime you want, you will be billed £5.99 the second you join, you can cancel within 30 days, but if you don't they will bill you for next month, and so on.

Its really easy to cancel and rejoin!

You can cancel anytime. Say for instance you took the free trial today 24th December and on 30th December you decided it's not for you , you just simply cancel your subscription and you will still be able to view content up until the 23rd January so you still get your free month.
If you decided you liked it and wanted to keep it it's easy to pay you can pay it monthly via debit/credit card or you can use paypal and set up a re-occuring monthly payment.
You can even buy gift vouchers too. I personally use paypal to pay each month.

You will not be billed the £5.99 if it is your first time using Netflix as you would be having your free month trial.
If you're reactivating your Netflix account then you will be billed £5.99 instantly.
Netflix works brilliantly with a vpn too look in the "online services" section of dspy for information and help regarding that.

Ok, thanks guys.
Seems rather too good to be true! How long before they're bought by some third company party that comes and messes everything up?

85% of the content is pure garbage for me personally, Prison Break was the best for me, kept me occupied during the Summer!

No chance as Netflix are huge and do have the resources to take on Sky if they wanted.

They already have sky worried. Theyre cheaper and better than sky movies and sky are trying everything to keep me as a customer lol

I went the website but couldn't see any list of what you can watch. Does anybody have a link to one, or are you expected to join without any idea of what you are getting?

I have Nettflix and have enjoyed all the seasons of my current obsession on there that is Vampire Diaries. I was a bit peed off though when, a mere 3 days after I had purchased the box set of Breaking Bad, they started running it from the beginning on Netflix....

If you do cancel then you can get another month's trial if you use a different email address.

Whether Netflix is worth it depends on what you want to watch. It doesn't have the latest releases but there is a huge archive of older films and TV series plus their own new original programming. It is also excellent value for money if you have young kids as their children's section is massive - and youngsters aren't so bothered about seeing the latest stuff and you can introduce them to the classics from your childhood.

I watched all four seasons of Prison Break on Netflix as well. Also good is Breaking Bad, Have also been rewatching 24. Seen seasons 4, 5, 6 and 7 and will be watching season 8 in the new year ahead of its return next year. Orange Is The NEw Black is quite good although only seen half the series so far

1080p 24fps with DD sound (on TiVo at least, don't think you get 1080p on other platforms), so, close to Blu-Ray quality, with the sound being the biggest difference, and higher quality than HD TV channels. Was quite surprised when I tried it as I was expecting the picture quality to be pretty poor.

I wonder why they don't let you see what's on offer beforehand. That puts me off, because I think we should be shown what's available first.

You can always sign up for the free trial to see, there is also an unofficial website with a list somewhere, but I can't remember the URL.

This unofficial list might be helpful: the latest complete Netflix UK film and TV list in alphabetical order.
Note: [CC] = closed captions / subtitles available. If there isn't a [CC] next to a film title, it doesn't have subtitles. HD = high definition.

I believe the list is updated once per month. There are also posts that announce new arrivals in between the updates.

It's quite hard to find out what's on offer after you've signed up. It probably depends on what platform you're using but on Apple TV or Panasonic TVs it's very user-unfriendly - you'll get repetitive strain injury from all the button-pushing it takes to find anything.

Still worth £5.99 a month, though.
