Orange is the new black is a excellent Netflix exclusive show.
Yep. Lilyhammer and House of Cards are also very good Netflix exclusives. More on the way by the looks of it too. Sky did the old trick of poaching as many recent movie rights as possible so Netflix went for the TV shows, launched their own production arm, and are now aiming become the internet equivalent of HBO.

If there is one media company that has the financial clout and market presence to finally kick old man Murdoch in the balls it is Netflix.

They already have sky worried. Theyre cheaper and better than sky movies and sky are trying everything to keep me as a customer lol
I have sky movies over Christmas and i have Netflix with unotelly so i get Netflix us,canada etc too. Sky movies has been watched once lol it's mostly Netflix. Even the guy at Virgin media said i'd be better of dropping to M+ tv pack if i'm watching Netflix more than normal tv lol.

In simple terms it's a on demand video service you pay £5.99p/m to watch unlimited content on Netflix from tv shows to movies to Netflix own content.
Orange is the new black is a excellent Netflix exclusive show.
Why not try it out you get a free months trial if you don't like it cancel it within 30 days of signing up.
The trouble with Netflix is, it doesn't show you what they have to offer you and because of this, you just have to go on what others say about it. Lovefilm is the complete opposite, they show you everything they have and because of this, you can easily decide whether or not you want to join them. Saying this though, Lovefilm doesn't have THAT much. I'm guessing from the way people on here talk about Netflix, they must have a load of content.

Netflix is the best TV package around, by far.

Masses of TV shows of all different genres, a huge movie library and great picture quality from its 'Super HD' broadcasts (speaking as a Virgin Media customer).

Every broadcaster has content you'd never be interested in and Netflix is no different, but it has a huge amount of quality content that blows any other broadcaster out of the water. From Breaking Bad, Prison Break, 24 to BBC comedies and documentaries and stuff you just don't see on other UK channels. Netflix just shows how overpriced conventional TV packages are.

I think as Netflix gets more and more original content, it will be advertising that all over the place.

Instructions on setting up Unblock Us on specific devices and routers can be found here.
http://www.unblock-us.com/how-to-set-up/

You will need to sign up for a subscription at an extra £3 or so a month.

To me Unblock US really does make Netflix come into its own. Well worth the extra few pounds.

Have a look at the dedicated board for Netflix. There is a thread in there for stuff that others have found. Game of Thrones will not be there as its HBO and they dont, as far as I know, license there stuff. Buffy is tho', all seven seasons.

It's more than worth the money just for Breaking Bad and House of Cards. With the 30 day free trial and then only £6 a month (compare that to any Sky package) it really is a no brainer.

And why do people keep saying "so and so is available on Netflix?"
The website itself doesn't really give you any information. just say £5.99 per month.
I signed up and found the actual choice to be extremely poor, and really old shows. Never again. Love Film is equally as bad

Use the search function too or look at top of page you'll see "genres" everything is listed under it's genre there once you find your way around you'll love Netflix.

I would agree that UK choice was poor but if you can spend another few (3?) pound a month and get a service like Unblock US and thus access all the other Netflix regions then it is better.

Because Sky are only selling their packages to the people in the UK, or Ireland as well. Selling subscriptions to people worldwide allows you to lower the prices to what people will see as cheap.

Is that you mr Murdoch?

Just kidding, on demand isn't for everyone but most people tend to find that it suites them perfectly. There are plenty of ways to get HBO content too by using a vpn service and signing upto HBONordic , HBOGO will require a usa address where as HBO Nordic doesn't. This will cost about £7p/m combine that with Netflix £5.99p/m you basically have Skys entertainment+ pack for £12.99p/m instead of £25p/m as the vpn would allow you to view content on sites such as Hulu , CW ,ABC , FOX , NBC , CBS , Disney usa , Discovery usa etc which are all free.

Same, but this was a couple of years ago

A handful of good films that you may or may not have seen, and hundreds of crap low budget films and documentaries

Netflix is great, especially if you use something to get you access to the libraries in other regions. Lovefilm is another option which, I believe, still has a better selection of UK-originated TV shows. I've found the picture quality of Netflix better though that might be down to the material rather than the streaming itself. So if you prefer UK shows Lovefilm may be a better choice, but it's less clear cut if you prefer US shows, with Netflix having the advantage if you use something like Unblock Us.

The other difference between the two services is that Netflix uses a recommendation engine that trains itself in your preferences as you rate things and watch them (I think this only works in your home region?). Lovefilm is a more traditional catalogue-type system, splitting content by release date and genre, so you can just leaf through the select if you want, which you can't do with Netflix unless you use an external website. It will offer suggestions too, but it's a secondary option rather than the prime one.

One other thing to bear in mind with Lovefilm is that it runs its DVD/Blu-ray postal service via the same site, so sometimes you'll get all excited that some big blockbuster is now available only to then realise you've wandered into the Blu-ray section...
