Prepping the xmas veg the night before
Do you do this?
I'm pretty sure it's what my mum does but my husband reckons it's a bad idea... I'm just talking about peeling and chopping, then leaving in pans of salted water. What's the worst that can happen?? |

I do it every year, in fact I have just sat down after doing it this year. Saves loads of time on the big day.

When I used to entertain the family it was a must thing to do. I would sit on the floor of the living room with my knife/peeler, chopping board and saucepans watching a good film with a glass of something nice to drink near by. Happy days

I've done the mashed swede and cauliflower in white sauce today. We'll do the sprouts, carrots and potatoes in the morning,

Not only do I prep the veg the day before, I made the mash last week and have just taken it out of the freezer. It will go in the oven tomorrow with dollops of butter.

Why do you need to prep? Just open the bags from the freezer and in the oven they go, you lot do like making hard work for yourselves!
