I'm still certain EE will top the day.

I would love it to but am not sure what will happen.

Yes, Corrie's credits started rolling at 20:26. Very charitable of ITV!

Brand new unless you got it in your stocking last Christmas when it was one of the best selling DVDs obviously.

Shows how ITV are on the back foot before they even start, having to air adverts.

Stopwatch fans (old school), Corrie started at 7.28pm, Doctor Who started on time, EastEnders started at 8.32pm.

Over-stating matters a little.

I'm currently marvelling over the Albert Square Christmas dinner, apparently stone cold as there is no steam.

Thought it was very odd for them to start Corrie at 19:28. Backfired on them I think, not that they'll care as I doubt anything they did would change the result.

Yes one early commercial break on ITV and they all start having orgasms over it.

EE, Dr Who and MBB to be top shows.

DW is available on iplayer immediately (there was a joke about learning to use iplayer during the show).

Finishing Corrie closer to 20:30 would have suppressed Who's peak, and (to a lesser extent) its average.

Apart from DA which I believe will hit 8.6 and tie with DW I think you are on the money with the rest of your predictions, and yes I do agree they should be ashamed for a dire uninspiring festive fortnight of so called entertainment.

Wonder if it'll end up a fight for Corrie on +1 now vs EE for Doctor Who fans?

Am watching EastEnders and yet to watch Corrie. Doctor Who was pretty good, a little quiet though, but the ending was great. EastEnders dull so far...

After DW we switched to DA, I hope all the soaps score low because Christmas Day should be about variety and three hours of soap in prime time between the channels is frankly irritating,

Dr Who was terrible, again - Moffat cannot do Xmas specials. So disappointment again. Russel T Davies get back in charge and sort us out some good stories.

That was always going to be the case.

ITV so stupid not to use the ad restrictions to their advantage and run the schedule with accelerated flow - surely that ad break in between Corrie and Downton can't be worth that much more to them than a full ad break within Emmerdale earlier.

Twitter has gone abuzz with Danny Dyer just now making his much anticipated introduction on EastEnders. Tweets about EE shot up from 1000/minute to 6600/minute as soon as Dyer appeared.

Though surprised to not see it trending, I'm guessing it's updating very slow today.

Trends very DW-heavy as you can imagine but nice to see "Roy and Hayley" there too, bodes well for January.

Maybe Stuart Blackburn could move to Doctor Who?

It might not surprise you to hear this, but when surprising things happen, tweet shoot up.

It's interesting when you break down the tweets

Top London trend - not in the top 10 of Birmingham.

At least you watched-Samuel will be proud!

There are a lot of mixed opinions on the show thread and some unbelievably detailed analysis already. Personally I thought it was very watchable -looked good and was brilliant escapism. That's enough to keep me happy on Christmas night.
