Back to TV and notice ITV2 have scrapped the Take Me Out spin-off show. I think last series it ended up being put back to later in the night rather than airing immediately after for some reason, and that obviously helped kill it off.”

Of course you are never ever biased towards ITV are you? Not once. Not for one tiny moment. You interpret posts you don't agree with in a negative, personal manner. Rather than take on board what others say, and consider it and discuss it, you take it as some kind of deliberate ITV bashing when it is nothing more than an open public forum where debates are rife from anything from +1 channels to the hideous rearrangement of the Casualty theme tune.

Wait, they've rearranged the Casualty theme? Why would they do that?

To jazz up the show. It'll definitely work.

It's okay but I don't think the music suits the titles at all. It just feels weird!

You have actually caught me out there. I have watched a few Apprentices although not the last one.

Because they decided that it needed changing! It was probably done on the exec producers 16 year old son's keyboard!

Well worked might be a little strong I suppose.

I have always said the problem is the theme tune...

They have taken a nice punchy tune and turned it into a dirge.

Correction; that's what some old BBC execs think the youth like. You'd never get this on ITV.

Indeed. No time for funky theme music when there's highbrow demonstrations of gravity in action to broadcast.

The Splash! theme tune is dire however perhaps a tad better than the reversion of the Casualty theme.

The Casualty theme tune is pretty iconic so why have they changed it?
Sounds like the Original and latest version added together and speeded up...Terrible

I'm sure some of you will take this post as deliberate ITV bashing too (but it's not)...

Splash has only got the ratings it's got due to lack of anything else on and it being January. Twitter has been really interesting tonight - my timeline anyway has been full of people saying they're watching it but only because there's nothing else on. People are at home on a Saturday night, they want entertainment and this is what's being served to them.

Whatever your opinion on The Voice I'm pretty sure it will clean up next week. It's a big show, with big name judges. I predict it will be about 7/8m vs 4m.

With Pointless getting the head start, do you think it could actually dent ITV's ratings tonight?

Out of interest, does anyone have any info of what was offered on January Saturdays ten years ago? It would be interesting to see how things have fallen so deep!

The new theme sounds closer to the original. A big improvement on the dull Non casualty theme they had been using for more than 10 years. The previous one was not very good.

The new music doesn't quite work with the titles thogh.

I doubt much really, Britain's Brightest launched with just under 5m in that slot last year, and I'd reckon Pointless will get a similar number.

This day last year:

Pointless is a little more popular than Britain's Brightest (by little, I mean quite a lot)
