I suspect it won't hurt the show to be making the front pages. I'm fully expecting it to rise next week.

Yet again the BBC's One O'Clock News beats ITN's at Ten. The Holby figure will include about 400,000 watching River City in Scotland.

”

Thanks Mike.

The Taste and Celebrity Big Brother are conspicuous by their absence in that list.

I can see it dropping there were people who watched it that were bored by it. It's a stupid programme based on The Voice, I kid you not! It deserves to tank!

"Benefits Street" was intended to wind up the general public, so I imagine CH4 are quite pleased.

It's like all of their so-called "factual" output, basically telly-trolling for ratings. Unethical of course.

Moving it late for the cricket and then early for the cricket in mid-run did for it, although perhaps in any case it needed to do better numbers from the off to make it pay.”

Gosh that feels like a long time ago. Of course it was majorly hyped as being like Glee (which was massively massively popular on both sides of the pond at the time) but then it turned out to be like the bad side of Glee so people turned off in their droves.

I wonder what'll happen if it comes in at 13.52m..does anyone have access to a third decimal place on BARB?

The series average for The Voice UK 2013 was only 2-3 million behind the series average for The X Factor 2013..and the highest rated episode of XF2013 got 10.41m where the highest rated episode of TVUK2013 got 9.50m.. - allowing for the vastly different seasons the shows aired in, it's actually already not that far behind..

Yes that's what i thought too, it's just the Voice with spoons

That Ludo guy was so annoying but Nigella is a charm as always. It was crap though.

The series 2 averages make interesting reading, The blinds did very good business, with the last 3 averaging 9 million, I think they'll be disappointed if it isn't similar to the 8.4,million the first one launched with given the slot, dire lack of competition and the interesting ad campaign (which even if it's a little odd gets people talking) Don't get me wrong, anything over 8 million overnight would be excellent but that the final averaged slightly more than series 1 there is still interest in the show imo so that's what it should be aiming for

Exactly. It's doing well. figures are consistent. Most talk around the show is positive - Metro have published an article today saying EE is the show to watch in 2014.

And heck there is actual talk about the show

The quality has improved and people have noticed, in soap terms the stories aren't massive headline grabbers. They are slow builders. It still needs that one WOW moment to get a large number of viewers back watching.
