I agree, the series was patchy at best (and dreadful at points) but it was very funny tonight.

I just posted something similar in the Vicious thread. I'm hoping for 4 million for it tonight. For me, it was funny!

Not really sure what Five are playing at here. Maybe they are using that 3am slot to test stuff out, they only claimed it back from Supercasino recently. But the sample must be too tiny to be able to come to any meaningful conclusions about how said programming might perform in primetime, so I don't get the point of it.”

Does Babestation go off air at 3am?

Thought Blackpool Lights could be interesting but sadly it's been filmed TOWIE style - would be much more interesting if they didn't "create scenes for your entertainment".

Looks like we'll just have to wait for a week on Monday for the finals at this rate Looking at the iPlayer list doesn't really tell you anything - the top five are what you'd expect: Doctor Who, EastEnders, Mrs Brown's Boys and Still Open All Hours. The only realise thing I'm surprised at is Flushed Away - didn't realise that had even been on.

I don't think blowing things up and setting them on fire does any long term good. Kirkwood did it with the Pub in September 2010, then with the Bed and Breakfast in December 2011.

Surprised that's on the iPlayer - most films usually aren't due to rights issues.

I'm surprised a broadcaster has shunted a new show to a graveyard slot because it's supposedly rubbish. They could have left it in daytime or not aired it at all, surely? It just seems like a bizarre time to air it.

Was nice to see Mr Bean shown in prime time on terrestrial tv again after so many years. If it does well i hope ITV repeat it again on occasions.

It's not been shunted as previous posts in the thread by dancc and myself have stated.

It's a bizarre Five policy of testing shows. It'll still get prime time but yes it's awful anyway

Anyone know why Job Lot didn't get a special?

There were only 15 episodes and I think most people have seen them all. I don't think they'd rate well.

They did well enough for ITV3 a couple of years ago. It's probably about the only comedy of their own which ITV could revive for a Christmas special and get decent ratings with.

Because its ratings were awful and it's being demoted to Itv2.

Although I expect the Vicious special was written and filmed alongside the series. Maybe the writers of The Job Lot just didn't do a Christmas special.

Vicious wasn't exactly a roaring success despite its theatre queens lineup

Castaway on BBC Two may get a boost tonight because of repeats on BBC One.

Last year, one-third of all Scots - and three-quarters of Scots watching TV - were watching BBC One at midnight.

Not necessarily; it depends how much SyFy were paying them for first-run rights.

Yesterday at 11:30 on BBC One. ronant reported a rating of 2.36m (22.6%).

Chicken Run is also available on iPlayer - both it and Flushed Away are Aardman Animations films which suggests that iPlayer availability is part of that specific deal.

Oh so familiar.

I agree that Vicious was enjoyable, the writing still needs a lot of improvement (a lot ) but when you have actors of this calibre, who have clearly had fun making it, that can be enough to make it a fun watch. Can't see it changing anybody's mind though, those who liked it will still like and those who hated it will still hate it. Ratings will probably be in line with where the series ended.

Hoping Death Comes to Pemberley holds up, perfect after Christmas fare. A trailer for The 7.39 aired after, looked promising with yet another terrific cast. It really should have aired over Christmas, on 22nd and 23rd perhaps.

Paul O' Grady For The Love of Dogs will return to ITV for a 3rd series in 2014.

For those forum members who have been suggesting that EastEnders needs a massive stunt to revive its ratings: sorry to disappoint you (or please you, depending on your stance towards EastEnders) but Dominic Treadwell-Collins has already been quoted as saying that he thinks stunts on soaps are rather lazy and that he would rather focus on characters and storylines that move the viewers. I believe his exact words were "I am not saying I won't blow things up but I'll leave awards for most spectacular sce ne to another soap."

Really struggled to find anything to watch tonight. Pemberley looks great but not my cup of tea - would imagine it will hold up in the ratings. How did the Dyer do in EE?

Fantastic news. Wonder what slot it will go in? Personally I'd extend it to an hour

I expect the repeat of Mrs Brown will mop up a fair few viewers due to there being buck all else on (to coin a phrase)

Mr Bean on Channel 5 was fun earlier on mind.

Yes, but it will stop the consolidation of Christmas Day's showing "dead in its tracks", as Robbie would say. Getting worried about my bet; it doesn't even seem like two days since it was on! Meanwhile Doctor Who will be motoring on. I doubt it can make up the difference though.

This. Very much so, this.

I think it will be on Thursdays at 8.30 again. One of the few programmes that can deliver a decent audience to this slot despite the Emmerdale lead-in and lack of junction on any other main channel. (Expecting BOAF to perform well in this slot.)

They could try hour long episodes on Tuesday at 8 but I think they did that with Countrywise and only succeeded in knocking its ratings down compared with what it got in half hour slots against Eastenders.

Even stranger though is The Sun going with the EE peak figure (which almost certainly belongs to Dr Who) as suggesting millions tuned in to watch EE, rather than going with the fact that it's the least watched Christmas Day episode ever. Then again I shouldn't be surprised the tabloids are going with spin over fact.”

How dya figure that out? The BBC dont like Mrs Browns Boys. It got key slot on Christmas Day!
