Help with new iPad Air, old apps
davesull

Grateful for any help please. My wife has replaced her iPad 16Gb with a 32Gb iPad Air. However she's having trouble downloading from the Apple Store several apps that she's already paid for. One is a jigsaw app, which was free with some free picture folders but she'd also bought several extra folders. There's also Nemo and Singing Monsters. In each case, she can download the app but only with the introductory free content.

As far as we can see, several other apps have downloaded OK.

At present the old iPad is still as it was and hasn't yet been de-registered but we're reluctant to do that until we're sure the previously free-for items will download properly.

My understanding is that all her data is securely saved in iCloud and that it should be possible to fetch it down on to the new device. Is that true and what actions do we need to carry out for a stress-free transfer.

In the case of in-app purchases. There should be a setting somewhere in the app itself to 'restore purchases'. However some of the very old apps didn't include it or buried the option somewhere not very obvious. Like under the main iOS settings > App Name

OK, thanks for that. I found the link for Nemo but it's horribly complex, involving supplying info to Disney for verification purposes and then getting an email back in around 3 working days! The jigsaw app locked up completely and it looks like deleting and reinstalling is the only way to get out of the crash. And I've not even tackled Singing Monsters yet!

However there's an Apple shop close by so we might go in there with both iPads and see if they can sort us out.

Will post back on any progress. Meanwhile, thanks for the help.
