HDR 1000S odd behaviour
I've had the 1000's since not long after it was launched and have had no problems since all the timer fail bugs were fixed earlier in the year.
But, I've now come across a new issue which is a bit of an irritation at this time of year when you tend to record and watch more. I find that if the machine is in the process of recording two channels and I try to turn it on to say watch something that was previously recorded I get a blank screen. The machine appears to turn on, ie you see the free time logo on the front panel display and then a channel name appear but the tv screen remains blank. If I leave it till the recordings are finished it works as expected. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this? Donald |

I suspect that as the HDR-1000S was recording (and actually on) it sent the handshaking signal to the TV then and then later when you tell it to come out of standby The TV is not automatically switched to the correct HDMI source.

Thanks for the reply, I have an HDMI switch since there's only one input on the tv so I made sure it was on the right input. I also still use an old foxsat HDR and it goes via the same HDMI switch, it has never behaved in this manner.

I see a somewhat similar problem on my 1000S connected to my Panasonic E5B TV on HDMI1. I have to power on the TV first then the Humax. If I power on the Humax before the TV is fully booted up then the TV switches to the correct HDMI input but the screen is blank. The HDMI hand-shaking implementation on the 1000S is pretty poor.
