I have a gmail account on my laptop and get my gmail through my windows live mail along with my other mail. I had to set up a Google account on my tablet to be able to download games from play store etc, but I can`t find an option to logout of gmail, as I don't want my emails coming up on my tablet when other people will be using it. Is this possible? I logged out of google on the google website, but my mail is still showing when I tap gmail.
Thanks.

Two options: set up a guest account for other people to use so they don't interfere with your personal accounts (settings -> users)
Or Go to settings -> accounts -> google and select your google account. You can then uncheck gmail from the sync options.

You could just uninstall the app - only takes seconds to do.

Cant you set the app to only show email if you sync manually. I do this with the Gmail app on my phone. That way the emails don't come through automatically. Not tried it on a tablet as we set ours up with a new non personal Gmail account.

if you go into settings, then accounts and sync, select your google account and then untick mail in there it should then stop syncing mail altogether on that device

note these instructions are how it works on my 4.04 android, might vary slightly on different device/version

Thank you all. I have unchecked gmail from the synch list. Obviously all my emails are still in my inbox when I open gmail. If I delete all those emails on my tablet, will they all be deleted from my laptop aswell?

Also, now it's not synched, does that mean if I open gmail on my tablet I will still receive emails on there, but I won't receive those same emails on my laptop and vice versa?
