iPad mini music not updating purchases

I bought some music from the iTunes store on my PC. As expected, those songs also now appear on my iPod touch with the little cloud symbol for me to download if I choose. But they aren't showing up on my iPad mini.

Anyone know how you can get the music app to force refresh the songs so that it gets the complete list from iCloud? I've tried switching off "show all songs" in the settings and that leaves me with five or six tracks I've downloaded but it's strange that they refuse to be deleted when doing a right-to-left swipe. I hope I don't have to reset the iPad.

Switching "show all songs" back on, does nothing except show the list as it was before. It doesn't do a refresh it seems.

Have you tried Settings > Music > Show All Music ?

Also confirm Settings > iTunes & App Store is set to the correct account.

Yes, see above.

I've given up with it for now. I don't really use the iPad for music anyhow but there's obviously a bug somewhere in iOS 7.
