Cripes Corrie was depressing tonight, I feel like popping my clogs myself.

Really can't wait for Hayley to hurry up & peg it - not sure I can stomach much more of this - grizzling at the panto, hurling Chrimbo trees, breaking that expensive looking angel, shouting at Kylie.

Where's me valium ...

100% agree, especially the second episode - I felt like slitting my wrists!

I never thought that I'd be willing Hayley to hurry up and kick the bucket but I'm now bored to tears with this storyline, which is sad because it could have been so much better.

Also, in tonight's first episode, the director should have told the actress playing the consultant that she was supposed to act her lines and not just read them - she was appalling! Did she not realise that the cameras were rolling?

Thank God it wasn't just me who thought that. She was abysmal!

And I couldn't agree more, VERY depressing episode for crimbo - Hayley's awful diagnosis, aftermath of Leanne's slap, Kylie going round with a face like a smacked @rse, 'feisty' (i.e. nastily gobby) homeless woman, Michelle giving daggers and snapping at Steve's new friend *rolling eyes smilie*

If there was any light relief it passed me by in all the misery!

I was glad to have EE to put on afterwards for a bit of light relief

Yes it was a very sad episode but we all knew it was coming. I thought it was really good actually although the consultant did not behave in the way you would expect. Having said that, when my mum was terminally ill, her own doctor was about the same, so not all doctors get it right.

So people should just smile at each other when one of them is soon to be dying of cancer?

Tonight was actually the best double in a long time.

I found the part when Hayley and Roy had just been given her bad news and she was walking through the hospital corridors talking about Christmas and the decorations a bit cringy in the dialogue e.g.

"Pity it has to end"
"I suppose if it went on forever it wouldn't be so special and you wouldn't cherish it so much"

I know she was talking about Christmas and decorations but I think it was the scriptwriters all so subtle way of Hayley also describing herself.

The scriptwriters have done a lot of these symbolism and double meanings with this storyline all ready.

There's a real danger that they will overdo the maudlin stuff with this storyline. Of course it has to be drawn out but they have to be careful not to get carried away.....they don't need to hammer home the point that Hayley is dying and that this is a personal tragedy for her and Roy.

Feckin ell. A couple of months ago i was torn to bits and called a heartless evil bastard just for saying Hayley and Roy a couple of nerds. Now everyone can't wait for her to kick the bucket.

I liked it. Hearing about you waking up the bathroom floor after 4 days boozing was far more depressing. That poor dog. Mrs UQ must be a saint.

Very depressing episodes, good job they weren't shown on Christmas Day, after watching that, I'd have felt like taking the turkey out of the oven and putting my head in its place. Why couldn't dear old Hayley have just been hit by a tram or something if she wanted a permanent exit.

I loved it...

A bit of Harold came out with the attack on the old Chrimbo tree...

I loved the fact that it also wrecked the fairy/angel that little shit Hope had made...

She wound me RIGHT up in the panto queue... How fkn dare she when there was only minutes to go...

I hate Hayrold... I hate Fizz... I hate Hope... I hate Tyrone...

Can't wait for Hayrolds demise... Turn your toes up now...

On the plus side I did like Roys trays on the shelf...
Red Pens, Blue Pens & Black Pens...

However... I think Roy is an inkist of the highest degree...

Why no tray for the Green Pens Royston... Grrr...

This sl has made me realise that I don't understand these two at all. When they said those words 'till death do as part' did they not realise that it was literal? When I was a child my mum read the obituaries in the local paper every single morning. She also reminded me that we all die. In the middle ages people constantly thought about their death. I think our ancestors had far more wisdom about life & death than what modern society does.

Jane had the best attitude to her death

What Corrie is USUALLY good at is getting the right mix of drama and comedy.... The comedy is seriously lacking thesedays and the 'drama' is the same old repeated garbage that they have been spinning out for months now going around in circles... I have switched off!!!

Depressing I will agree. This storyline is being done very realisticly imo. Some say glad it wasn't shown on Christmas Day...well we are mere outsiders getting a glimps into the lives of thousands who are really living this horror and never get a day off. Haley is reacting exactly like I think any person would who is approaching their death. As far as her anger outburst...expected to be honest. She has maintained her composer throughout since her diagnosis, making light of things so others would be more comfortable around her. It was bound to be building inside her and with this final prognosis it was due to blow up. It's sad to watch but corrie is doing a sl that is real to so many families. Well done Corrie for getting it right.

I think it's being done very well...It makes you realize it can happen to anyone at any time...I really felt for Hayley last night when you could hear her crying in the bedroom what emotions and thoughts were going through her mind.....It certainly makes you appreciate good health...

I'm depressed at the thought of another MUP (Mouthy Young Person) arriving on The Street. Sophie's new friend.

I think we have more than enough already.

Depressing is not the word! It is totally heavyhearted, full of hopelessnes coupled with Kylie's desperation to wholly destroy her life. Although it is acted well by all actors especially the two who play Roy and Hayley, it is very dark and dismal.

Of course it was sad, but then again, she is actually dying of cáncer........!

I think the writing was a lot more realistic regarding this sl than it has been.
I just don't buy the belief that when you get told you've got weeks to live, you suddenly want to go and live up the rest of your days....I don't think so, first you'd be too depressed and second you'd probably be feeling too ill! So when she broke down, and did the "why me" speech, that rang more a lot more true to me. So well done Corrie for being a bit depressing when it is called for!
