I'm sure this has been mentioned before but what I'd like to see is a TV show sort of like Later...With Jools Holland but with only new artists and some unsigned bands as well. It could be made for peanuts as well. No need for a big studio or fancy lighting or even a presenter. Just a camera to capture a live performance somewhere in a small studio or at a gig. May be have 2 songs from say, 5 artists per week. I'm sure the viewing figures would be low but stick it on late at night as the people interested in this sort of thing would still watch it. I reckon most of the artists would be interested and pleased to get a bit of exposure as well.

May be I'm being naive as to if this would work or is possible to do but I can think of lots of artists that could be featured such as:

The Long Blondes - Maximo Park - Apartment - New Rhodes - The Magic Numbers - The Rakes - Special Needs - The Miss High5s - Piney Gir - Fleeing New York - Dogs - Regina Spektor - Dead! Dead! Dead! - Ciccone - HAL - The Pipettes - Editors - The Dears - Action Plan - Micah P. Hinson - Martha Wainwright - The Boxer Rebellion - Art Brut - Emma Mcglynn - The Rocks - The Boyfriends - The Features - The Chalets and so on and so on.....

I haven't watched TOTP for years but I'd watch something like this .

Yeah, the artists would have to be good but I think there are enough out there to make it work. I suppose the problem is you can't please everyone. Some people will think the music is crap and switch off and others will really like it. That's what I mean about making it low budget so it doesn't necessarily have to be axed as soon as the viewing figures decline a bit and its not competing with some other shit programme on another channel (probably a repeat of a soap or a mind-numbing reality show with Z-list 'celebrities' or some dire top 100 show hosted by that **** Jimmy Carr ).

May be its been tried even more recently or there is already something similar on a satellite channel somewhere. I dunno as I hardly watch TV because 99.9% of it is shite. I can count on the fingers of one hand the TV shows I want to watch in a week.
