If I could .....I would NOW have
lots of seared scallops in a creamy cheese sauce

a sizzling steak -oysters bacon - onions mushrooms - tomato
with a large jacket potato with sour cream and snipped chives

and ....then
a lush trifle with lots of thick custard strawberries and whipped cream.and some dark chocolate

I really fancy something, ANYTHING, that's not 'picky food' for tea seeing as that's all I've been eating for days. But looks like it will be ham, cheese and crackers (again). I could eat something from the Chinese quite easily.

I haven't had any picky food yet really this chrimbo, but we are this evening.

I could really fancy a hot sausage roll and some savoury rice. I have no idea why .. but I do.

It's funny how these things stick in the memory. When I was a student the Chinese takeaway down the road did a lovely chicken in chilli and garlic sauce, and in the twenty years since I've never been able to replicate it properly.

What I would really like to eat right now is one of the cold chicken dishes from the Sichuan cookery book that my wife gave me for Christmas, but I don't have all of the stuff I need. Tomorrow will be dedicated to finding an oil thermometer and a suitable preserving jar so that I can make chilli oil!
