YES Britney! Nice to see a bit of effort!

When I was growing up Britney's dancing used to SLAY, that's why it's been so disappointing these last few eras because the performances have just been garbage.

This looks much better though

I do not understand the appeal when she's miming the entire thing

How on earth do you expect her to sing live when she's dancing like that?

I think people need to get over Britney and singing live. I dont think she's ever sung live, even when she first started, other than singing ballads on her Onyx Hotel Tour.

Well, that was honestly a hell of a lot more moving around and leg work then i expect from Britney in 2013.

I don't understand why it only seem to be Britney who gets the lion's share of attack for miming.

I don't think it looks that great. I'd rather go and see someone like Beyonce who can dance and sing live at the same time.

The sad part is that some people don't care and let these cheap imitations of "singers" get away with it...

It just looks like the same old charade to me, only slighly more tired looking.

She looks stiff to me. And in parts she's out of time with the rest of the dancers.

The Outrageous music video shoot was the last time that "real" Britney appeared. Sorry, but I don't think this performance was that great. She was stumbling through some of the moves and I don't think the routine was that hard to begin with.

It's the most energetic I've seen her perform in a long time, but I'm not sure if that's something the fans should be so excited about.

The dancing seems better than what was seen recently from her, and there was more energy, but I am not sure that I am as impressed as some other people here.
I suppose this Vegas residency could help her get back in top shape if she has 5 or 6 shows a week for a good while, and let's hope her energy, dancing & stamina will improve (fast hopefully, people are paying good money to see her, so I hope that they will get a show as spectacular as they hope!). Or this could lead her to exhaustion...
I haven't read the details about this: how many shows does she do a week, and for how long?

As to singing live: I suppose those who buy tickets don't care if she lip-syncs & they want some spectacular staging & dancing to some of their favourite Britney pop tunes, so Britney & her team will hopfully do their best to deliver that.

The main reason i can think of for Britney not doing any great dancing for a long time was when she broke her knee rehearsing for the Outrageous video, which led to that video being half done and the tour being cancelled. It also led to a court case regarding the insurance. I remember reading back before the femme fetale era she eventually had an operation to sort it out for once an for all.

She gets the almost-legendary pop star tag and therefore people frown upon her being blatantly shit...

The dancing isn't that great, it is nice to see more energy and her trying harder, but it looks messy to me.

I too don't understand the praise this woman gets just because she is moving slightly less robotically than she has done in the past. That said, her dancing is till sloppy, clumsy and out of time. She is a shadow of the performer she used to be.

As for the miming, I think it's a bloody disgrace that people even try to justify that. She is so complacent and lazy that she doesn't even attempt to sing. What exactly are people paying to see? I'd be fairly confident that half the girls in the audience could get up on stage and dance just as well as she does here, while miming to her tracks. So why the hell is she getting paid a fortune for it? I just don't understand it at all. She is actively proving that she has little to no natural talent or ability every time she gets on that stage and fakes it.

Really, if you think about it, she's not a singer at all because she doesn't actually sing a note. When she's on tour, she's really just a dancer now, and when she's getting outdanced by every one of her backing dancers ten times over, that's a pretty embarrassing position to be in really.

For those complaining about lip-synching here is the performance from a different angle, I can definitely hear live vocals.

This is Britney. BRITNEY. Are you seriously expecting live vocals after all these years?
I'm going to forget about it, as I assumed straight away when she announced it that she wasn't going to sing much live no matter how many times she said that she was going to.

Spectacle wise, this show is up there with Circus as her best. Her dancing has definitely improved too, so much more slick and much more energy too.

From what I've seen of her videos, the mashup of Hit me Baby/Oops is AMAZING. PLEASE PLEASE check that out! Completely different to the original version, and the styling and look of it is so much more darker, modern and just genuinely brilliant!

This is precisely my point. What the hell does that mean? I would translate that as "This is a woman who cannot sing outside of a studio and lost any performance ability she had 6 years ago".

Why on earth shouldn't I expect a singer to actually sing? And on that note, it just goes to show how little she and her manager respect her fans when he blatantly lied in the interview he gave, by saying that she would be singing live for the whole show. http://www.nme.com/news/britney-spears/72887 is the link to it. It's all complete and utter lies.

And about the supposed live vocals on Work Bitch - I'm not really sure that can be counted. She certainly did not sing anything on it. At the very most she spoke some parts to it. What about the other 20 or so songs though?

She might as well be miming if her mic is on 10% and the studio vocals are on 90% volume in all the performances.

She even did it with Perfume, a ballad, with no choreography. Standing still. Embarrassingly lazy. I've defended Britney in the past as a performer but this is just a joke, especially when her team put out all those stories of "intense vocal training" and her "toughest show yet", only to have her walking around lip-syncing to a ballad.
