Diamond (10x platinum) albums
After hearing that Green Day's debut album (Dookie) went diamond in the USA I was wondering if we've had any albums over here go diamond

I seriously doubt it when America's population is far greater than ours.

I'd have a stab at the 'South Pacific' soundtrack, seeing how long that was at No.1, but then that was about 40 years ago...

The Americans don't use the same thing, simple Simon. Their platinum is a lot larger number and the equivalent per number of people in the country as platinum over here

Seeing as platinum in this country means 300,000 album sales, I take it you mean which albums have sold 3 million over here? Well there's a list here (probably quite inaccurate but you get the idea). Proof, if any were needed, that album sales have f*ck all to do with the quality of the music. |
