EastEnders have announced that writer Paul Vaslav will co direct and produce EastEnders alongside Dominic Treadwell-Collins. DTC and Vaslav will work together from 1 February 2014.

EE have confirmed that Paul Vaslav takes over the co-production of EastEnders from February 1 2014.
'I am delighted to be able to work with Dom and the rest of the EE team on taking the show back to the top, Dom has done some great things since he took over in December and we will working towards the 30th Anniversary in a years time and planning some big storylines that will begin this year and culminate in our 30th Anniversary in February of next year.

Paul Vaslav alongside Dominic Treadwell-Collins have announced a series of axings this afternoon.
Show Stalwarts Laila Morse, Perry Fenwick and Shane Richie who play Mo Harris, Billy Mitchell and Alfie Moon have both been axed from the show which has sent shockwaves through the cast when announced today- also on their way out is Hetti Bywater (Lucy Beale) Mimi Keane (Cindy Williams) Kate Magowan (Sadie Young) Khali Best (Dexter Hartman) Ricky Norwood (FatBoy) and Tameka Empson (Kim Fox)
'Axing characters and telling the Actor who plays that character is never pleasant but Dom and I both discussed these characters and felt that all of them no longer served a purpose in our vision for the future of EastEnders- we wish them all the best of luck in the future- more will be revealed in due course on how they depart the show.

FIRST NEW CASTING ANNOUNCED
Actor Charlie Archer who graduated from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 2012 has been cast as Lee Carter, the son of Linda and Mick Carter (Kellie Bright and Danny Dyer) in the show.
EastEnders is Charlie's First TV role having worked in Theatre since he graduated from RADA in 2012, his recent credit was the lead role of Billy in Billy Bud at The Southwark Playhouse.

I completely agree. I think he really should have continued that one as he put so much effort into it. It kinda makes it all for nothing. He should really continue with the Harts in charge of the Vic. They were such an exciting family and so much had happened ie Alfie and Roxy. Please Please Please ditch this one and continue your last one.
