FIRST INTERVIEW WITH ASSOCIATE EP PAUL VASLAV

Paul Vaslav sits down with DS to talk about his new role as Co-Producer of EastEnders alongside Dominic Treadwell-Collins.

How is the job going?

Working with Dom and the cast is a real treat but hard work- Dom came in after Lorraine left in November and has turned the show around, we are excited about the Carters, the return of the real Sharon and our new cast members who will be joining in the coming months.

Yes and another new Family too?

Yes The Hart Family will be arriving in May and we are excited about them- we have managed to land three top Actors in Nick (Moran) Tristan (Gemmill) and Kazia (Pelka) as well as young Martha Mackintosh for the roles.

Do the Harts have secrets?

Yes of course and they also will be bringing new businesses to Walford- watch out for some exciting new sets.

You have axed some characters too.

Yes we have axed eight characters, its never easy telling the Actor that their character has reached the end of its shelf life, however we feel that the characters leaving have indeed reached the end of their shelf life and we of course will be bringing new blood in to replace them.

Billy's Exit is going to be big?

Yes as explained Billy will have a big story that will lead to his exit.

and the R * R Explosion?

Yes we want to refresh that set and it will happen at Easter- there will be some fatalities in this explosion but the viewer will have to wait and see who the characters are at Easter.

Your expanding Cora and Sharon's Families?

Cora and Sharon are both great characters and they need refreshing this year. Cora will be welcoming her nephew and niece Darren and Donna to Walford this year and we have cast Chris New and Kim Tiddy in these roles. We are also delving into Sharon's past with her birth family which we are very excited about.

Roger Lloyd Pack is guest starring as Cora's Brother?

Yes Roger is our first guest star announced and he will be playing Cora's brother Chas. Cora and Chas have a fractured history and their story is unresolved, Chas is also Donna and Darren's Father and Roger is perfect for the role of Chas.

Are you excited about Timothy West and Annette Badland who have just joined the show as Stan and Aunt Babe?

The Carters were Dom's big castings, he loves Shirley and felt that she was underused, its great having Danny (Dyer) and Kellie (Bright) here as well as Luisa, Maddy and Sam and now we have Timothy and Annette here who are Acting royalty and soon young Charlie (Archer) is joining as Lee.

Will we see anymore castings?

We will but not yet, we want our new characters to bed in and explore their stories before we cast any new characters. The show will hopefully be strong this year and I am looking forward to it.

Meet The Harts

The Hart Family may not be on our screens for a while but why are they heading to Walford? and will they rival the Carters?

The Hart Family will arrive later this Spring in Walford but with them comes secrets and for one particular resident a series of shock surprises.

Meet the Harts

ROBBIE HART played by NICK MORAN

Robbie is the younger of the two Hart Brothers, a cross between the late Michael Moon and Mick Carter- Robbie is a Business Man who works hard and plays harder- he is unmarried but has a son from a previous relationship- he arrives in Walford to open a new business.
Robbie is a tough East Ender but his tough exterior will soon give way to romance when he becomes a knight in shining armor to one resident.

SAM HART played by TRISTAN GEMMILL

Sam is Robbie's older Brother and the stable force of the two brothers, like Robbie he will also be opening a Business in Walford. Sam has been married to his wife Corrine for over twenty years - he is still recovering from the death of their Mother and both his and Robbie's Father is now in a nursing home suffering from dementia.

CORRINE HART played by KAZIA PELKA

Kind hearted but tough Corrine is the daughter of Polish immigrants and like her husband she also has her own business- Corrine is the force behind the power in the Hart marriage and is protective of her daughter Saskia. Corrine was the one who instigated the move to Walford but unbeknown to Robbie, Sam and Saskia she has a real reason for moving her Family to Walford.

SASKIA HART played by MARTHA MACKINTOSH

Saskia is the apple of her Father's eye but a fiercely independent spirit and currently at Art School in London, Saskia is somewhat disappointed about the move to Walford as she sees it as beneath her.

Veteran British Actor Malcolm MacDowell who is best known for his role in 'A Clockwork Orange' will guest star this summer in EastEnders.

'In a real coup for the show we have managed to get Malcolm MacDowell to jet over from LA for seven episodes this year, Malcolm will be playing a character that will be linked to the Square's Residents and it will be great to have a touch of Hollywood in Albert Square'

MONDAY 3 FEBRUARY 2014

Max discovers a pregnancy test in the bathroom and knowing that it cant be Abi he confronts Lauren and demands to know if she is still sleeping with Jake and after a row Lauren is forced to admit that she is still seeing Jake even though she tells Max the pregnancy kit proved that she was not pregnant.

Jake, Sadie and Bella are enjoying a family meal at home when the they hear a loud bang at the door- Sadie asks Jake to make them go away but when she hears Max's voice and Lauren's she tells Jake to let them in- Jake starts to panic realizing that Max is going to reveal all to Sadie about his affair with Lauren.

Max storms into Jake and Sadie's and goes for Jake while Lauren starts crying and Sadie ushers her daughter upstairs demanding to know what is going on, Max tells Jake to come clean but Jake panics and runs out of the house with Lauren running behind him.

Max reveals all to Sadie and tells her that Jake and Lauren have been having an affair- leaving Sadie shell-shocked.

Lauren catches up with Jake in the Square's Gardens and sees him crying and goes up to him- Lauren tells Jake that she thinks her Dad has told Sadie about their affair- meanwhile back at the house Sadie tells Max to leave after the reveal- Sadie then breaks down into tears while over in the Square Gardens Cora spots Jake and Lauren kissing on Arthur's bench.

Great episode and the spoilers sound great.

MATT DI ANGELO RETURNING AS DEANO WICKS.

Associate EP Paul Vaslav has revealed that Matt Di Angelo is returning to EastEnders as Deano Wicks.

'Matt is a gorgeous, talented young actor and he will be back on our screens at the end of March' said Vaslav.

TUESDAY 4 FEBRUARY 2014

Its the morning after the night before and Jake wakes up on Terry's sofa and then realizes what a complete mess his life is- Terry offers Jake coffee which Jake drinks and Jake thanks Terry for letting stay on his sofa.

Cora realizes that Max knows about Lauren and Jake and asks him what he is going to do about- Max tells Cora that Lauren is grounded but Cora tells Max that Lauren is an adult and that it wont work, meanwhile Abi is shocked when she learns of Lauren and Jake's affair.

Sadie is struggling to come to terms with the news and tells Lola that she will not be in the salon today, Lola is concerned that she will lose a days pay but Sadie tells Lola she will pay her.

Dexter receives a phone call from his Mum in Newcastle and when he hears that she is unwell and makes the decision to join her there but how will Cora react? Dexter later tells Abi that he misses his Mum and is planning to move up to Newcastle permanently.

Sadie decides to teach Jake a lesson and throws his belongings out onto the Square in full view of the residents, a humiliated Jake is also cornered by Cora who tells him to stay away from Lauren if he knows what is good for him.

Sadie later makes a call to a solicitor and tells them she wants a divorce, later Lola comes around to see Sadie and Sadie breaks the bad news to her- she is selling the salon and leaving Walford.

SPOILER- VASLAV TALKS 'MORE ABOUT THE HARTS'

The Hart Family will not be on our screens for another three months but already Associate EP Paul Vaslav is teasing what we should expect from the Square's newest Family.

Here is a snippet from Vaslav-

Robbie- 'Robbie is a game player and he meets another game player on the Square who he sees potential in'

Sam- 'Sam is the sensible one but he is grieving for his Mum and guilty that he and Robbie's Dad is now in a home'

Corrine- 'Corrine is holding a secret from her Family that could well shatter them and make one particular resident question their existence'

Saskia- 'Saskia has her own secret but is desperate to keep it from her Family'

'It is with sadness that we have heard today that Roger Lloyd-Pack has died- the character of Chas Anderton will be recast due to Lloyd-Pack's untimely death'

Veteran Actor Kenneth Cranham best known as Harvey in the 1980's LWT Comedy 'Shine On Harvey Moon' will replace the late Roger Lloyd-Pack as Chas Anderton in EastEnders it has been confirmed.

Queen Vic Landlady Linda Carter played by Actress Kellie Bright will welcome her Mum Elaine and her Nan to Walford this year for some guest appearances.

'We are currently casting two Actresses to play Linda's Mum and also Linda's Nan but neither character will move to Walford and will be recurring guest stars only. As fans are aware Linda's Mum is called Elaine so we are looking at Actresses who are old enough to play Linda's Mum and also we plan to cast Elaine's Mum too so obviously we are looking at an Actress in her eighties for this role'

Its not very popular it seems plus it takes a lot of energy to write up a fanfic..

Probably a good idea. I was very excited about this. It seems you get heavily criticised in the main room for your obsession with LGBT and Sharon so you decide to make your fanfic all about these elements.
