Favourite female country artist/group around at the moment
I've been listening to a lot of country music recently, mainly by female artists.
Also, my favourite album of 2013 is Same Trailer Different Park, a country album by Kacey Musgraves. I wanted to see if anyone else on here are fans of country music and who their favourite artists are. Poll coming soon, sorry if I've missed someone big, I wasn't sure whether to include Taylor Swift or not but I think more people would have been against her being in the poll. ![]() Poll coming soon

The Band Perry are not a female artist. It consists of three people but the lead singer happens to be female.
It would be like classing Evanescence, Paramore and No Doubt as female artists. |

I loved Kacey Musgrave's,Follow Your Arrow.Radio 2 also played another one of hers for a few weeks earlier in the year. She's very cynical for one so young, but you can't help laughing out loud at some of the lyrics.
I would love to get together with her, knock back some Jack Daniels, and discuss everything that is wrong with the human condition.

Because she was listed, I voted for LeAnn Rimes, but I also love Alison Krauss and Tanya Tucker.

I don't know a lot of country artists but I've loved Martina McBride since the mid 90's so I've voted for her. I think Jamie Lynn Spears could be someone to watch out for, going by her lovely debut country single How Could I Want More.

I am suprised no one has mentioned Shania Twain
or most importantly Loretta Lynn or Patsy Cline, who if it wasn't for these women, neither of those women listed above would have ever been successful if these women hadn't broken the boundaries for country music. I personally like most of them, but someone who deserves a shout out is Julianne Hough. Only done the one album but has since gone on to acting and acted in a few musicals. She has a voice that melt like butter. It's dreamy. She is amazing in Rock of ages. |

Sadly OP these threads always get hijacked by the line-dancing brigade.
(see above). You probably know Cassadee Pope? Loving her single at the moment I think that is a cross-over. Miranda is queen at the moment though. |
