It's called on demand it's how these things work. Old content goes new content arrives.
This happens with companies such as Sky and Lovefilm too rights expire.
I wouldn't trust anything the Telegraph says anyway.

Maybe have a look and see if you'll miss what is disappearing before being so melodramatic

Lovefilm do this regularly as well. They just refresh the catalogue with new stuff, so i imagine Netflix will do the same.

Got my 1 year Netflix subscription gift card to activate tomorrow - very happy

Most of the stuff leaving have been there 2 years anyway since the site launched.

Looks like Netflix's deal with Viacom has ended which is why a lot of them are going (MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central shows).

Ahh well, no worries. Even though I've seen all of them multiple times, it was always my "if nothing else on" fallback to kill some time. There's enough of it on sky on demand at the moment though I suppose.

Thanks. That's a really useful list, which I've just bookmarked.

Maybe the DNS aren't working on your router, or if you have a Roku 3 this is hard coded with Googles DNS on a recent firmware update, so if the Roku doesn't get a DNS response from the router it defaults to Googles, so only local Netflix will work.

I would check you have the smart DNS set up properly and working correctly first on your router.

And the Americans often complain about how we have better content than they do. Its a simple case of the grass is greener. All Netflix regions have things that other regions would really like while missing things that people in that region would like.

They do appear to be getting rid of almost their entire stand-up comedy lineup. I suppose it's understandable considering it's probably all Comedy Central stuff. I'd added the Roast of Flavour Flav to my list as it's probably the only one i haven't seen, but it looks like i'd better watch it tonight just to be on the safe side!

Indeed they do, I've got the UK, US & Canada Facebook/Twitter pages and they all complain about what they've got.
For me personally I prefer Canada over the US and do find it amusing when they complain how rubbish theirs is.
Lately though I've been using UK as we've got the latest season of Warehouse 13 which the others don't.

Well, a lot of American 'comedy' at least. They've just added a couple of Tim Minchin stand up shows, Lee Evans and Michael McIntyre. The last month or so have also added Richard Herring and Al Murray.

The Dutch service has some good titles too (see http://www.netflixaanbod.nl/) - although they only have about 1,100 titles vs 2,704 currently on the UK service (soon to be 2,300)

Canada's movie selection is probably the most recent, I'm assuming they don't have as much competition for the rights in Canada unlike the US and UK. Only problem is they are often SD even via a settop box or Smart TV

The problem for Movies in the UK is Sky have first run rights locked up for most of the Movie studios. Until these expire Netflix in the UK are restricted on what they can buy. Even when they expire Sky will be tough to beat to first run rights as they simply have a bigger budget to buy rights.

Even second run rights are tough as Sky buy alot of Archive stuff and they also have Amazon's Lovefilm to compete against
