Humax hb 1000s Not seeing network drive
Hi Peeps
Just Before Christmas I replaced my trusty foxsat hd with the new G2 spec Humax hb 1000s, I added to it a spare hard drive for the very rare occasion that I need to record, it reads and plays both music and video files when I plug in a memory stick (why put both usb sockets on the back ) and can see and play files from both my desktop pc (win 8.1) and laptop (win 7) fine and all in all i'm very pleased with my latest bit of Humax kit.My problem is that I have a 1tb 'network drive' attached to my BT Home Hub via it's usb port, both my desktop, lappy and Panasonic Home Cinema System can see, access and play files from it fine but the Humax cannot see it Has anyone else had the same problem or can anyone offer any help as it's driving me demented ![]() many thanks in advance Ps. I think i've posted this in the right place, very sorry if i've not ! |

Hi Graham
many thanks for your rapid response, no it doesn't as I haven't needed it for the devices listed in my original post, as you seem to be a knowledgeable guy in that respect please can you offer any advice and also what file system it should be formatted in, it's currently NTFS which the above devices can see and work with regards baronfungus |

It's looking for DLNA servers on your system. Windows Media Player qualifies so you can see your PC shared content. If your NAS has a suitable usb port I guess the HB1000S will see it and play the content directly. The Foxsat-hdr running the CF can be fooled into thinking a networked NAS drive is a directly connected usb drive so will access NAS files (thanks to a clever CF package). I guess the HB1000s would need similar to see your NAS drive, in the absence of suitable media server software. Limit of knowledge reached Sorry ![]() Repassac if he reads this is likely to know a lot more, he has a HB1000S (not sure if his system includes NAS storage). Afterthought. Connecting your NAS to a router with built in DLNA may well solve the issue. eg http://www.dlink.com/uk/en/home-solu...me-router-1000 |
