the chart at the bottom of the article shows year on year growth for Personal computing brands. Apple has yoy growth of 13.3% whilst Samsung has yoy growth of 678%. As this is in Apples strongest market that does not bode well for the future for Apple IMO.

Apple have chosen not to compete with Android tablet makers on price so it's not surprising that around the world people are choosing cheap Android tablets over expensive Apple ones. Apple is making a lot of money on the tablets it is selling, much more than it's rivals but it spends a lot on marketing and development too. Apple created the market for tablets and dominated it for the first two years but now in terms of number of new units sold iPads have been overtaken by Androids. Apple are now a content business through iTunes so they need to maintain market share in the tablet and smart phone sectors (Desktop and Notebook are gone) but they are losing share to Android and Microsoft is trying to get in to the game too.

Samsung sold 40 million tablets in 2013 and expects to sell 100 million in 2014. It's no wonder Apple keep trying to get them banned. Then there's Kindle, Asus, Acer, Nexus, Lenovo, Sony and hundreds of smaller brands.
