I understand where you coming from it is frustrating at the moment. I know there is a lot going on at EE with other storylines but we really need spoilers for a Johnny storyline soon to keep us going.

In light of Aaron's interview it is bizarre they had that scene between Steven and Johnny if nothing was going to happen. Aaron made no mention of Steven's gay past and I wonder if there will be any on screen mention that he was attracted to men . I noticed that there was no scene between Steven and Christian beyond a hello and given their history you would have thought it might have been referenced. Could EE be attempting to hide Aaron's gay past?

At this point it is looking more likely Ben and Johnny will get together possibly part of Paul's departure. Jonny Labey seemed to be hinting that he was axed so that Johnny and Ben the only other two gay characters in EE would be together. Paul exit storyline must be coming up soon and hopefully Johnny will have a significant role to play which might explain why he now has a quiet period.

This sounds like wishful thinking, doesn't it? I try to mentally block out his wife/girlfriend and daughters when I look through his Instagram.

Those Carter spoilers for the next week could lead Johnny and Steven to get together. Johnny could get so fed up with that Olly plot that it could lead him to drink and seek out his crush.

Aaron's gay past or Steven's?

I was only referring to Steven and there was no intention to mention Aaron and his personal life. Sorry for the confusion.

Aww! No! Not at all! I presumed you got them mixed up and that's why I made a joke out of my Aaron fantasy.

I agree with this it does seem very conflicting them making no mention of Steven being gay in his last stint whatsoever even in places where it could have been emphasized yet having the scene with Johnny which to me seemed clearly suggestive.

If it was meant to be a scene to throw the audience off track for the Lauren/Steven reveal then I actually find it a bit in bad taste. Sort of like 'Ooh look, Steven's still into guys and is going to get together with the only single gay guy on the show.... Haha not really, Lauren's magical vag has cured his gayness.' I don't know, it just sort of feels a bit cheap to me to use sexuality in that way, particularly as they did it with Johnny, a character that fans have been crying out for some on-screen romantic development pretty much since he joined.

Unfortunately I do feel at this point that the reason Johnny is treading water and getting these occasional flashes of attention is simply because they're waiting to write Paul out in a sad/emotional way so that Johnny can be Ben's shoulder to cry on when he's gone. If there is any further development with Steven, it will most likely be Steven using Johnny to sleep with the first time him and Lauren have an argument, and promptly breaking his heart by getting back together with her, or Johnny's crush on Steven disappearing as soon as Ben starts sniffing around.

Steven/Johnny could be brilliant and I pray that we were right to feel excited about that heavily suggestive scene between them.

Do you think a good eventual storyline for Steven/Johnny would be to do a gay rehash of Max/Stacey? Steven and Mick could be at it like rabbits behind Johnny's back.

Steven and Johnny would be the best gay soap couple ever but sadly I fear they are so hellbent on getting Johnny and Ben together it will never happen.

Hopefully they will see the online buzz this week, not that they should pander to the shippers but it might give them food for thought.

Basically I just want a bed scene for Steven and Johnny! I approve of Elly's vision of them lying spent in each other's arms, red faced and flushed as Steven lights a cigarette.

Please let us have a full on gay romance with Steven/Johnny, with actual PDA, an interesting SL, I really want to see it in EE. Pleeeasee...

Eastenders is on public service broadcasting, and therefore should be educational. Along with PDA, we need them to mention their sex life and discuss the troubles they are facing in the bedroom. Gianluca may not have been as 'talented' as Steven is, or as adventurous. People have a right to know about these things.

Really wish they would hurry up and pair Johnny up with someone. How many people has he flirted with so far for a couple of episodes? Him and Steven would be amazing, but at this rate I'd take him being Phil Mitchell's secret affair.

Yet another episode where he has been completed underused. Few scenes behind the bar and that's it. GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EE are definitely winding us up now

Johnny has another pointless scene in the Vic and it is with Andy. So that's Ben, Tom, Steven and now Andy who have had scenes with Johnny. None of which has led to anything and three of them are with someone else.

If EE don't deliver something special for Johnny after all this teasing there will be trouble

Not even a few, wasn't it just one? Still, nice to have him and Andy in the same scene together. Hot.

It's a shame he didn't get another scene with Steven. And now he's not in it until next Friday and Steven isn't in the credits for that episode. Still at least the week after he should be in it a bit more.

I'm going on holiday at the end of June for two weeks and to be honest I'll be glad of the break. My poor heart can't take any more of this teasing and I'm thoroughly fed up with EE right now as a result.

Of course while I'm away Johnny will probably discover how much fun having sex is, and collectively works his way through Steven, Tom, Andy and Kush.


I honestly thought Andy was gay or bisexual when he first joined. That weird scene with Linford when they were acting awkward at Kim hitting on him, the flirting with Jack... God knows what tone they were meant to be going for because I clearly got completely the wrong impression.

Yeah the flirting with Jack was defo hinting Andy was gay. I think they may have altered some of the plans for his character when they decided not to keep Linford on.

You might find a break from it does you the world of good! I have been a lifelong viewer and finally switched off for 3 months this year as I just couldn't take it anymore!

It seems to me they are making all the same mistakes they did that led Sam Strike to leave. I just wish they would give Johnny something (or rather someone) to do!

Hopefully the new producer has a better view of things.

If a relationship with Steven is off the cards or a long way down the line, it begs the question what SL did TPTB have in mind when they brought Johnny back?

It wouldn't surprise me if DTC just recast him before he left as another EP may not have bothered.

If Johnny's SL only start with Paul's exit, then when is Paul leaving? It's really difficult to have an interest in a character you only see in one scene, with only one line of dialogue every now and then. 😯

The actors who play the Coker family are all in Greece at the moment on holiday which might suggest Jonny Labey has finished filming. Jonny starts his new play on 4 August and with time needed for rehearsals makes sense a holiday in between finishing EE and starting on the play (also how would they explain their tans). That being the case Pauls exit might on screen towards the end of July.

The decision to recast Johnny was made in response to Maddie Hill quitting the show as Nancy last summer and clearly to boost the Carter family. They only appointed Ted to the role in in February so the new producer could have stopped it if he felt strongly about it. Paul was axed as a result of Johnny returning and again the new producer could have stopped it. We have to assume the new producer is on board with Johnny's return and that storylines are in place. Kellie going on maternity leave might mean more storylines for the Carter boys and Whitney away from the Vic

It has been a slow start to Johnny's return after a big return but that might just be the way the storylines are going. DTC did say Johnny would have a big storyline and Paul leaving does open opportunities for storylines with Ben.

When would Johnny know about his exams? Would be nice to have scene about that and I have mentioned it before but can Johnny have a on screen birthday celebration as every other Carter family has had one (and we would know when his birthday is and how old he is)
