Well I definitely feel a break, even a relatively short one of two weeks, is going to do me good, and I may not bother watching on catch-up when I get back unless something meaningful happens with Johnny (so I'll rely on you guys on here to keep me updated!)

Your second point is very true. I think Ted seems a lot more committed to the role than Sam (not a criticism of Sam, I don't see anything wrong in being ambitious) so don't think he'll be off as quickly if he isn't being used but at the same time, they can't take the mick with it, you know? They need to be utilising their young cast; it's shameful that Jamie Borthwick only got one really decent story under DTC and the rest of his time has been spent making up the numbers in the Mitchell family.


It's lovely that the Coker actors have all gone on holiday together, I do feel so sorry for Jonny Labey who seems like a really nice guy. Yet another plot-over-character casting that led to the waste of a decent young actor. I do wonder if Les and Pam have also been axed - the fact that they have gone away together relatively quickly after Jonny's axing means that Les and Pam probably won't be there for the aftermath of whatever happens in Paul's 'explosive' exit. It's a shame if so. I was never a fan of Paul's character, precisely because (as I said), his character was a plot device rather than a fully formed character, but Les and Pam were great IMO.

I agree that bringing back Johnny was no doubt a response to Maddy leaving the role of Nancy but I'm not sure an incoming producer has any say whatsoever about leavers and arrivals before he's due to start. I could be wrong, though. At the moment it's impossible to say what characters SOC will favour and who he'll neglect, but my worry is that he'll wonder why he needs to pay attention to the likes of Johnny when not even his original creator could come up with a decent storyline for him outside of his original coming out. I'm also quite worried that if Johnny DOES play a big part in Paul's leaving storyline, the overall quality of this (and any other storylines around this time) is going to be quite poor as there's no EP at EE at the moment.

I presume Johnny will know his results fairly soon, I always remembered getting them a few weeks after my exams, usually just before I went back home for the summer at the end of term. So I'd expect the next few weeks.

Edit: Only three episodes of EE next week (none on the Monday), and Johnny is in two of them - Tuesday and Thursday.

Yes, it's more family scenes for Johnny, and he's still in that bloody pub, but I suppose at least it's a different character he's interacting with.

(Also for us Steven fans, how hot does he look in his suit?! I think if he was to walk into The Vic dressed in that, Johnny would probably pass out. )

It should be a nice scene but if Johnny is to have scenes with his family could we have one with Lee. We have not had one scene between the two of them since Johnny returned and it would nice if EE could do more with the two brothers maybe linked to Lee's depression storyline

Agreed about Lee but as his depression is fairly settled at the moment, perhaps they'll get some stuff if/when Lee relapses which I'm sure is inevitable, this being EE!

Also don't forget guys that Johnny is listed in tonight's episode credits although he's the last character on there so it may not be a speaking part or certainly nothing significant. He may get slightly more to do next week in Tuesday and Thursday episodes.

Lol I think you might be onto something here. I'd also add his silver fox tutor to the list, their chemistry was awesome (to the extent that quite a few people on the main forum were speculating they would have an affair after their scenes together.)

Also I find it weird that Johnny and Paul haven't said anything to each other yet. I feel like, awkwardness with Ben aside (which Paul doesn't know about), the three of them are young gay guys around the same age and Ben and Paul are frequently in The Vic. Paul and Johnny have both travelled, come from 'nice' families and Paul seems quite well educated like Johnny. Regardless of whether something happens between Ben and Johnny later down the line, I feel like they've missed an opportunity here to show Johnny third-wheeling with them sometimes.

I'm worried about Johnny's sexual health. He needs opening up and needs to unload.

To be fair, he's on screen so little that he could feasibly be getting action every night and we wouldn't know about it. Although going by the way he reacted to Steven, I'm assuming that isn't the case.

Just looking at the episode credits for next week; only three episodes again but no Johnny in any of them. Which suits me fine as I'm on holiday that week and the one after. I'm looking forward to his scene tomorrow (or is it Thursday?) with Sylvie. And I'm hoping we'll get another Johven scene tomorrow or Thursday when they're both listed in the credits.

Spoilers for w/b 27 June indicate there is a birthday party for Linda in the Vic that week but things don't go well. That should mean Johnny should be appearing so something to look forward to.

Linda's birthday party storyline two years ago when Luca appeared, Lee talking to Johnny in a box and they dressed up as the Spice Girls was one the best series of episodes of Sam's time at EE It went downhill after that!
