Oh God, Linda's birthday during Peggy's funeral week, that's going to bring the Carter haters out in force on the MF. I hope that Johnny gets something to do. Maybe something happens with Steven? (I can but hope. )

And yes, I loved that episode, definitely one of my favourite Johnny ones. The attack on the Albert happened after that, didn't it? That's when things started to go downhill, IMO; they never properly explored the effect it had on him and they forgot about his friendship with Sharon as well. He didn't even go to visit her in hospital.

I think we had a new record tonight for Jonnny's on-screen appearance time. Blink and you'd miss him, literally.

Oh I blanked that scene out! I remember Linda going to see Sharon and Johnny refusing to go, completely forgot he snuck in there afterwards. That was actually a nice episode for Johnny, think he got more to do in that one episode than he's done the entire time he's been back.

At least we know he's definitely got a scene on Thursday.

I thought we'd get slightly more Johnny tonight then we ended up with but at least it was better than glimpses of him in the background...

He was surprisingly calm when Sylvie started being suggestive with him. I think I'd have run screaming from the room! Nice to see his caring side though.

At this point we have to be grateful if for anything beyond serving pints behind the bar

The scenes with Sylvie were sweet but I did think for a second she was going to make a move on Johnny which would link into her recent behaviour in the home.

Nothing next week and then hopefully back on screen the week after with Linda birthday party. Really hoping we get some news of a storyline for Johnny whether that is Paul or Steven related soon.

Ted does not appear on the cast list for 28 June when Mick throws an early birthday party for Linda

Where would Johnny be given he spends all this time at the Vic and why would he not attend his mums birthday party. (Maybe this carries on in the next episode but still odd that he would not be part of the planning)

He isn't in the next episode either. It does seem strange that the rest of the Carters are there (with the exception of Whitney who is an unofficial Carter) but not Johnny. Also the only Carters in the Thursday episode are Linda and Babe, so it doesn't look like there's any follow up to whatever it is that goes wrong at the party.

I suspect that Mick plans the part but it's all a bit of a damp squib as Linda isn't in the mood for celebrating or something like that.

Still, at least I don't have any episodes to catch up on when I get back from holiday unless Johnny makes a random appearance in the Friday one. Can't say I'm too disappointed, like I was saying before, I do feel like I need a break from EE!

Oh it looks like there is no EE on Friday next week so definitely no appearance for Johnny that week.

And I was wrong, it looks like Linda's birthday does go ahead but then it's ruined by the ongoing Babe blackmail plot. So it is strange that Johnny isn't there for it but to be honest he'd only have been there in the background reacting to what was going on so I suppose it doesn't make any difference.

It looks like it is not much of a party and as you say he would only be in the background. Last week was odd as well when Johnny, Lee and Whitney did not appear in the early morning scenes with Sylvie and it appeared they just gone to bed and left Mick and Linda to deal with everything themselves.(why Sylvie did not take Johnny's room rather than Mick, Linda and Olly having to be turfed out of their room and sleep in the living room was not explained)

I noticed that Ted was not nominated for best newcomer in the Inside Soap awards but the guy who plays Kush's brother who arrived after him and has done very little has which is strange (not sure who put these names forward whether it was EE or just the magazine)

The actor who plays Shakil is really terrible! I know Ted gets mixed responses on here but Shakil seems almost universally disliked. Perhaps they figure he's got a higher chance of winning as he's better known due to his BGT days? Or maybe they don't consider Johnny a 'new' character as he was played so recently by Sam, so therefore don't consider him eligible for Best Newcomer? I know Tilly Keeper was also nominated but Louise hasn't been in it since she was a kid. Anyway, bizarre decision, and a shame for Ted who I think it would have meant a lot to be nominated.

Lovely to see Ted and Danny-Boy were at Pride this year. Ironic that I went last year (and saw Jonny Labey and a couple of others) but obviously couldn't this year as I'm on holiday. Ted looks very cute in the photos.

Johnny is back on screen on 4 and 5 July which is Peggy's funeral so don't expect too much expect but better than nothing.

So apparently Johnny was in tonight's episode in an added in scene? Guess I have one episode to watch when I return home! How did it work in terms of Linda's birthday, was he conspicuous by his absence or was there an explanation for it?

They obviously filmed the scene today covering Brexit and England losing in the football with Mick, Linda and Johnny. At the end Johnny said sorry for missing Linda's birthday party in the Vic because he was meeting his lecturer. Not sure what could be so important he had to meet his lecturer in the evening when he is not back at University but it explained his absence when you see the later scenes

Maybe my hopes for an affair with his lecturer will actually come true. . Why else would he be meeting him in the evening when uni has broken up?

Don't want to get your hopes up but early spoilers for a couple of weeks time say that Lauren has a party in the Vic for friends and family. That should mean Johnny and Steven meeting up again and who knows what might follow

I did see that, and my mind went to exactly the same place, but there are too many variables at the moment for me to get excited. Let's just wait and see if he's even in the episode first.

Following on from that, a spoiler from another magazine for that episode (the 14th July):

- Lauren has an idea to help Johnny as she gathers her friends and family for a night out at The Albert.

So not only do we know Johnny will be there, he gets a specific mention which is probably the first time he's been mentioned in the brief spoilers since his arrival week. I wonder what Lauren could be helping him out with?

Just speculating here but I wonder if Lauren tries to help Johnny with his lovelife. I'm sure we were due another appearance from Tom, although looking at Tristam's Twitter, he was on set at the end of April (which seems a long time ago as filming is usually around 6-8 weeks in advance) and then again about a week ago where he was in his paramedic uniform so maybe not. Just wondering if maybe Lauren tries to set Johnny up with Tom or someone else, but Johnny is more interested in Steven? I can't think what else Lauren would be helping him with tbh.

I hope it is something to do with his love life but at this stage I really don't where EE are going with it. The Steven scene threw me as I thought it was set up for a Johnny/Ben to get together when Paul left.

Just a thought could Johnny be looking to get his job back at the Albert or could it be something about Johnny going back to Albert and being reminded of the attack?

I don't think the continuity is good enough for them to remember how Johnny was affected by the attack on The Albert but I could be wrong. It could be about getting his old job back; he would be working for Vincent and Kim now which would be interesting.

If it is anything to do with his love life then I think it's very likely him and Steven will end up having an affair. EE love that kind of storyline of someone's friend seeing their boyfriend/girlfriend behind their back and them being oblivious. I personally don't want to see Johnny become good friends with Lauren only to start an affair with Steven but I guess we'll see what they have planned. At least we don't have too long to wait for the midnight spoilers on Monday.
