Digiguide spoilers are saying that it's Abi that Lauren helps in the Thursday episode. Might be a mistake or she might help both of them but I'm now not going to get my hopes up for a Johnny storyline until we've had the midnight spoilers next week.

Still no news about Sam Strike to report
Leatherface remains in post production (now for over year) with very little information about the film made public and the chances of a Halloween release this year seem unlikely given nothing has announced to date. Whether the film will get a cinema release is unknown at this stage No indications that Sam has any acting roles coming up (not that Sam would say) and it is been over a year since his last acting role the Leatherface film. I can't help but wonder where Sam is going with his acting given the limited roles he as done in nearly two years and nothing announced for the future. I guess with acting everything can change if you land that big role and you have to prepared to wait but it is concerning that nothing much appears to be going on with Sam acting wise not even minor roles or theatre work. A difficulty for Sam is that he does not have much acting experience or CV to showcase to USA film makers aside from a few good scenes in EE to back up his clear talent. Surprised that he has not got any UK roles either but maybe he has not tried I just don't know On the positive side he seems be enjoying life in LA with his girlfriend so life is not too bad for him

So that could be something, or maybe not. I wish Sam has stayed in the UK to work as he'd have been much more likely to get stuff over here than in the US, but I suppose it's not the first time a young guy has made a huge life change after falling for someone. It does make me sad that things haven't taken off for him but I suppose there's still time, he just needs to find a breakout role. |

Episode update: Johnny is in all three this week but most likely as a background character with the focus on Peggy's funeral. He's in Thursday and Friday next week with a bit of a storyline on Thursday's episode (and maybe even a Steven scene if we're really, really lucky.
)

Couple of scenes today and he spoke
![]() . As much as can be expected as the focus was on Peggy's funeral For some reason the writers seem determined to give him some really cheesy lines. I did quite like him teasing Linda about her own funeral, though.Lauren's 'help' for Johnny in next Thursday's episode seems to be something about him getting stressed about working with Babe in the kitchen at The Vic. She probably suggests that Abi takes her old job back. There are some nice pictures of some of the younger characters getting ready: http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/east...t-be-pregnant/ No clue yet on whether Steven will be around when they go to The Albert but it would be strange if he isn't, particularly as he's in that episode and isn't listed anywhere else in the spoilers. |

The "She must have been an amazing woman" line regarding Peggy made me cringe.

Interesting that Abi and Johnny appear to be friends given their history with Ben and that Johnny is still friends with Ben (assume he has forgiven her for what she did to Ben with the fake pregnancy). I would have thought there would be some tension between them to start. I would imagine their friendship will be tested when Johnny finds out she had a one night stand with Lee
Nice to see Johnny having some fun at last and sharing scenes with people outside of the family. Also I'm not even sure if I'd class him and Ben as friends at this point, they never talk to each other! It does go to show that Johnny's relationships outside of the family have been non-existent since his return. Given that he never sets foot outside of the Vic, though, that's hardly surprising. It will be lovely to see him in The Albert next Thursday, and particularly with characters his own age.

I Wasn't she a bit snipey with him before he left for Italy because she sensed that Ben was interested in him or have I imagined that? .

I would say Abi was not happy with Johnny before he left fearing they would have an affair and was very relieved that he went meaning she kept Ben (well about from him going on one night stands which she ignored as she was so desperate to be with him)I guess now that she is no longer with Ben there is no reason for Abi to care what Johnny does so she can get on with him and have a night out with friends and family. Just one scene tonight but nice to see Johnny and Lee having a scene together with Whitney and first mention of working with Babe

Another episode where Johnny is on the cast list and just appears picking up glasses in the background
![]() Looks like things pick up next week with Lauren's party and the Paul Coker exit story is coming up so hopefully Johnny will actually have a some decent screen time. The last month or so has been painful with endless series of appearances amounting to nothing more than being an extra. The new producer is now in control and it will be interesting to see what he has planned for Johnny. I do wonder if DTC left it to the new producer to decide who will be Johnny's love interest hence all the hints but nothing moving forward. |

Anyway we'll see him in Thursday and Friday's episode involved in some different and more meaningful scenes so I'm looking forward to that and also how things will be with Ben now it's looking almost certain that Paul dies next week. |

Don't get too carried away
but there's definitely some better screen time coming up for him in some of the upcoming eps.

Quite possibly. I've also been wondering recently if the reason for not using Johnny in his first few months was because they were always aware that Ted, while being a great Johnny in terms of looks and mannerisms and innocence, was simply not where he needed to be acting wise when he joined and so maybe he's been getting some TV acting coaching on the side. I noticed that his general presence during that Brexit scenes, which is the most recent thing we've seen in terms of filming, was so much more natural and relaxed. He really hasn't had much experience in terms of TV acting and he never went to stage school, which most of the young cast have, so maybe he just needed some extra support and tuition. It's just a theory but it would explain his quiet start.
Anyway we'll see him in Thursday and Friday's episode involved in some different and more meaningful scenes so I'm looking forward to that and also how things will be with Ben now it's looking almost certain that Paul dies next week. It was definitely the case they rushed the selection of the new actor to play Johnny. probably because DTC wanted to done before he left. I think Ted said he started filming a week or so after being told he had got the to role as well which does support your view that he needed time away after his arrival for Ted to do additional acting classes which I assume they would normally do for inexperienced actors before they started filming. It does feel that EE in the last couple of months has been DTC taking various storylines to a natural end and leaving it for the new producers to decide what to do next if anything at all. In addition of course we have had Peggy's death and funeral which took up a lot of airtime With Johnny I guess DTC felt all he could do is bring him the character back and it was for the new producer to decide what to do with him. Add to that Kellie taking maternity leave meant that all Carter storylines needed to work in conjunction with the time Linda will be off screen. I wonder if EE writers are having to do lots of re-writes to big Carter family storylines to fit a different timeline so that the big moments are when Linda return. For Johnny they will have to use the time Linda is away to build up a storyline as it would not be realistic for anything major to happen to Johnny and Linda not being involved. I wonder if Johnny's love interest with Ben/Steven will be slow burner while Linda is away which might mean nothing happens until December/Christmas when Linda is due to be off screen for I assume a few months. |

Johnny is in three episodes out of four next week and is listed next to Lee at the top of the cast list for Thursday's episode, so potentially he's in the final duff duff scene although it's probably worth bearing in mind that they may have held back information on the cast lists for that week to minimise the chance of people guessing what happens with Ben and Paul and the 'Mitchell tragedy'. On the other hand, Lee is mentioned as 'feeling the pressure' in Friday's episode which may be related to him finding out that Whitney is pregnant, so it is very possible that the Carters do get the final scene on Thursday.
Should be a very exciting week all and all, hopefully Johnny doesn't get lost in all of it. |

I can't quite see how that will really work as Linda would have to be around to support Whitney as she as no family in Walford. I am wondering if this pregnancy (or maybe Whitney just wants a baby) will lead to STD storyline returning and the one night stand Lee had with Abi being revealed |

It does look like Johnny will have more on screen time in the next couple of weeks which is a good thing but he is I guess a supporting role to the Lee storyline and may be linked to the Ben/Paul storyline as well so we should not expect too much but better than what we had recently

Brief Johnny mention in the spoilers for next week as he hears he passed his exams. However I've no doubt that he will have a little bit more to do that week as Whitney announces her pregnancy (causing Lee to worry about everything) and the news of whatever happens to Ben (or Paul
) seemingly coming out to everyone on Thursday.

Johnny is mentioned in the brief spoilers for the week after next from the press office:
'Johnny tries to advise a friend but will he get the reaction he hoped for?' Just speculating what this spoiler could be about:
Spoiler
Could be way off base here and it may be something to do with the Whitney/Lee baby stuff, and Lauren finding out about Abi sleeping with Lee (so it could relate to Johnny finding out the truth from Lauren and trying to advise her to keep quiet about it), but I think the Ben angle is more likely. (On a side note, Leo Richardson wrote this episode. It's really annoyed me that Johnny has barely featured in Leo or Daran episodes since he got back as they were always his best writers first time around, so hopefully we'll get some great characterisation from him during this episode.) |

Johnny tonight.
He's gone from barely talking to not being able to shut up. Must have been the excitement of being out of The Vic. ![]() And there were definitely some Johven vibes going on.
