After last night what a relief that we had such a lovely Johnny episode. I loved Johnny talking to Lee in the bedroom when they were little and being so supportive.

Despite it being a happy occasion so sad to see Lee struggling to cope and dreading his exit which is going to be very sad (hopefully not a death) and Johnny is going to be devastated. I really cannot understand why SOC is letting Danny Boy go when this depression storyline and the impact of the Carter family could have been amazing

On a happier note Ben and Johnny I am not reading too much into tonight's scenes because Ben was drunk but it does seem that we are starting to see the start something taking place

Finally I thought there were some lovely shots of Johnny tonight and he looked great in the suit. I don't think the hair style does anything for him and when you see Ted in that GT shoot and how hot he looked with straight hair I wish they just give him a make over at Belinda's he would much more of screen impact

Watching the Ben/Johnny scene again and I do wonder what would have happened if Jay hadn't dragged Ben away. I guess my biggest concern about Ben/Johnny is the difference in their personality and this scene kind of summed that up for me. Jonnny was trying to push Ben away and Ben just wasn't listening to him. Obviously he was drunk but Ben does have that disconnect from other people's feelings that would maybe make a relationship with Johnny problematic.

Don't get me wrong, I do think it's a potentially interesting dynamic between them but I'm not sure I'm ready to ship them just yet.

The difference in their personalities is what makes me ship them so much. Ben needs someone like Johnny to rein him in and mellow him out a bit and Johnny needs someone like Ben to shake him out of the safe rut he's found himself in. They would constantly challenge each other and I'd love to see the drama that would come with that.

Even after his mum(s) came in Ben was still trying to fire in there! There's always been an attraction simmering between him and Johnny, I really want to see that explored and I'm happy it looks like it's going to be.

Yeah, I suppose the opposites attract thing would be quite compelling to watch, and I do enjoy Ben as a character even if they do continue to load the misery on him. I think it really is just the imbalance between them I'd worry about. I think it would be a decent storyline to show them adapting to each other but I'm not sure I'd consider it romantic and sexy in the way I would with someone like Steven. Although with that said, Steven is just as damaged as Ben so I'm not sure why I think it would be any different!

I've seen some people say that Ben was so drunk he'd have thrown himself at anyone and it didn't mean he has feelings for Johnny, but I disagree with that. This is the third time he's tried it on with Johnny so he's clearly attracted to him. It's less clear what Johnny's feelings on Ben are. Even last night, when he was trying to stop it, he was saying "You don't want to do this," not "I don't want this" or anything along those lines. I do think there is a slight sense of attraction from Johnny but I think he's extremely wary of Ben and what he's just been through with Paul and he recognises that Ben isn't a good place at the moment to start a new relationship.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing whether things progress now, though going from past experience I do wonder if they'll just drop it until the next time Ben gets drunk.

I hope there's a scene of Ben apologising for last night. No way would it have been just anyone, Ben looked like he was specifically waiting for Johnny to come down the stairs.

I reckon Johnny is wary not only because of everything Ben has been through and that he's trouble, but also because he knows his family really wouldn't approve of the relationship. I know it's cliche, but I wouldn't be averse to a storyline of then having to keep their relationship secret from their families.

Considering we never got an apology scene between Ben and Johnny after Ben said all those horrible things to Johnny about him being 'fake', I'm not sure we'll get one this time but it would be good if they did acknowledge it.

Episode update: Johnny is only in Monday this week but he's in Tuesday and Thursday next week (there's no episode on the Friday due to Children In Need.) On Tuesday he's fourth on the cast list so hopefully a decent amount of screen time for him.

Thanks for the update, it's always good to know when we can expect him.

Johnny is attracted to Ben but nothing ever developed because of Ben and has issues. Johnny would be wary of that but I could see that with Linda and Lee gone he might look to Ben for support and things develop from that.

If Ben and Johnny do end up having a relationship there will be only Mick and Linda around from early 2017 so not much point keeping it secret!. I think Mick and Linda would be probably be OK with it. Also Sharon, Kathy and Jay all like Johnny and would be pleased to see with a "nice" boy

I think that much of the potential drama of a Ben/Johnny pairing will be lost without Linda who would be protective of Johnny and Lee who has never got on with Ben and it is shame we will never get to see his reaction. Unless Ben treats Johnny badly which could easily happen due to Ben's temper I cannot see much of a Mitchell/Carter feud now.

On a completely different subject I am really hoping Ted is taking part in EE's Children in Need song and dance routine they normally do on the night. I wonder if Ted can sing and dance (Danny Boy and Shona have amazing singing voices and really hope they do a duet)

Teds singing was pretty bad during his second episode back when he was doing karaoke so unless he was putting that on I'm not sure singing is much of a talent. He didn't go to stage school so might not be as naturally at ease with signing and dancing as some of his other cast members. But I hope he's taking part anyway.

Tonight's episode really upset me with Lee's workplace being shown and the start of what looks like a workplace bullying storyline. I wonder if Johnny will realise what's going on like he did with the loan or whether everyone will be totally oblivious to what Lee is going through.

All gone quiet on the Johnny front. He is in a couple of episodes next week and Ted might in the EE Children in Need Song and Dance performance next Friday but no details of what they are doing and who is taking part. I was thinking it would be fun to have Johnny, Ben, Jay, and Shakil as boyband

EE is in a funny place at the moment dominated by exits (planned and surprise ones like Belinda) and a few long running stories continuing slowly (Phil's illness, Lee's depression and Denise's baby) and will continue onward into the new year. No other significant storylines are emerging

I suspect Johnny will be quiet in the run up to Christmas in the background to Lee's storyline and there will some Christmas stuff at the Vic as they normally do. I guess it all kick off for the Carters after Christmas/New Year with Linda leaving and Lee exit. I hope we see more Ben and Johnny scenes maybe setting the ground for a romance in 2017 possibly a kiss at Christmas or New Year?

On a positive not this will be first time Johnny will be appear in a EE Christmas Day episode (excluding the brief Skype appearance) which will be nice to see

I have to admit, Belinda's surprise exit made me realise that Johnny is still in danger from the axe, and that we might not even know about it until it happens. But I do get the sense that he's fairly safe for another year going by that interview Ted gave at the Inside Soap awards. While we're talking about that, didn't he say he'd been doing a lot of filming with Danny Dyer? So that's still to appear on screen.

I hadn't thought about that re: Johnny appearing on Christmas day but you're right. That's really awesome. And this is the first CIN he'll (well, the actor) appears on as well. I think this time in 2014 we'd recently found out for certain that Sam had left and when he didn't appear on CIN we were all feeling really sad.

Me too! I would flip if we got a Xmas or New Year kiss.

At least Johnny is in it a bit next week, but it'll be the usual blink and you miss him nonsense I'm sure.

I expect you're right. He isn't mentioned at all in the episode spoilers. Thursday is Lee's birthday (still no sign of when Johnny's is!) so he might feature a little more prominently then.

Next week he's only in Monday 21st's episode. I'm not too bothered about the lack of Johnny at the moment as I'm sure it will pick up before Christmas.

Is it a new coat or is the one he's been wearing with a zip-on collar (I know that some coats do have them?) Actually, looking at those pictures it does seem a bit thicker so I think you're right.

At least Johnny gets something to do in Monday's episode before disappearing for the rest of the week.

I only got round to watching Tuesday's episode late last night. Busy couple of days! Despite Johnny not being in it very much I did like his scenes. His concern for Lee is still evident (and though I wish he'd speak up, I can see why he's afraid to) and I thought the scene with Ollie putting on makeup and Johnny's knowing little look at Linda was brilliant.

Not sure how much he'll be in it tonight but at least we have CIN to look forward to tomorrow as well.

I am not sure Johnny can do in this situation but support Lee as best he can although he gets he head bitten off the moment he tries to provide advice. He thinks that Lee has a well paid job so might think the situation is not that bad

On a different subject E4 have confirmed that Timeless the US sci-fi series begins in the first week of December and Sam Strike appears in Episode 9 which will be broadcast I guess end January (the US broadcast date is 5 December I think)

Thanks for that. Will give the whole series of Timeless a go, not just Sam's episode. It looks quite interesting.

I hate these tiny lil glimpses we get of Johnny in episodes these days, it's worse than when he doesn't appear at all!

It is a bit ridiculous. Johnny has been in 73 episodes this year, according to the character count thread on the MF, which is pretty high considering he only joined in April. But so many of those episodes have been 'blink and you'll miss him' appearances. I'd say at least 20.

Still, at least he should feature in it properly on Monday's episode according to the spoilers/pictures.

True, but still as part of someone else's storyline. I want him to be given one of his own!

Same, but I don't think it will happen before Lee and Linda's exits. Like you I'm hoping he gets some sort of Xmas/NYE snog with Ben but I think that's the absolute most we can hope for!

Just seen Ted on the EE Children in Need routine. He did well trying to keep up with dance and he was carrying a bucket at the end

Was that Ted right at the beginning at the Taxi with the red headband taking the money with the bucket? I have to say Shona and Danny-Boy were amazing with their routine and looked fantastic together. Why are EE splitting them up

Great fun and well done to the EE cast for another great performance

I think it was him at the start but like you I'm not quite sure.

It was an enjoyable performance but all too brief. Agreed about Shona and DB, their bit was fantastic!

Love this photo. Martin/Johnny/Kush sandwich, anyone?
