In terms of romance, I still believe Ben is Johnny's chosen love interest (and not just because I ship them). However because of Ben's trauma around Paul and his ongoing storyline around Phil, it's too early for a relationship to start developing. Hopefully that will change in the new year.
I totally agree about Class btw, it's a great show!”
I still feel we're not out of the woods yet with a potential Johnny axing. I know some of the axings were announced, but Belinda's wasn't. Until May comes around (if Johnny is axed at the end of Ted's contract then it will presumably be April, when he first arrived, that it happens on screen), I'm simply not going to assume he is safe for another year. The way SOC is using him at the moment, I genuinely don't get any sense that he is interested in Johnny's character. I did at first but in the last few weeks he's regressed to how he was acting under DTC. Just there to prop up other character's storylines. It's really frustrating.
I agree that Ben/Johnny is logically where we're heading but I'm not really interested unless they portray this relationship decently. I do think the writers can do a gay relationship justice when there's a need to (the last few months of Ben/Paul were lovely, even though it was only because they wanted to make Paul's death more tragic), but it's whether or not there's investment in a couple that makes the difference, for me at least.
Class is so good, isn't it?! Charlie would actually have made a pretty good Johnny, IMO. He has the same 'look' as Sam and Ted - nice, kind eyes, pretty features, similar colour hair etc. Him and Matteusz together are so gorgeous. That scene in the most recent episode where Charlie was having a panic attack and Matteusz was trying to comfort him was amazing. Exactly the kind of scene that could be written for Johnny if they ever give him a boyfriend.
