I bet Sam is loving being at the same awards ceremony tonight as Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad. Hope he gets to meet him.

How cute was Sam in tonight's episode, all teary after the scene with the roses. Looking forward to the fallout from his and Whitney's trip to the gay club!

I loved the scene with him crying. Not so impressed with him leaving Lucy's wake early to go clubbing, but I suppose he seized the opportunity as Linda had practically giving him her blessing, and he had pressure on him from Whitney.

It sounds like Johnny will have a bit of involvement in a big storyline for Sharon next month. Details in this post:

i was a bit shocked that he left with Whit to go to the club, but as you said, he seized the opportunity Linda gave him.

More Johnny/Sharon scenes- I'm so here for those two!

I am so tired of these small Johnny scenes... I want him to be featured ALOT more in episodes he's in. Thankfully the Sharon SL is happening soon, and I desperately hope he's a main character in it. - BUT, I love seeing him doing revision before he heads over to The Albert to start his shift

Fantastic hair tonight again, a good looking white pullover combined with a gorgeous smile

Same here, really want him to be part of a big storyline now. I'm sick of waiting! Although saying that, I loved the little scene between him and Linda in the kitchen in yesterday's episode, and him describing the club as a meat market. That fits his characterisation well.

I also hope that he plays a big part in the Sharon storyline. If he's upstairs when it happens, he may see or hear something, or he might feel guilty over being close by but not realising what was happening and so he might try to do some investigating himself. All just speculation of course but I love his relationship with Sharon and it would be nice if he's involved in this.

He also seems to be doing a lot of work recently in terms of university and at The Albert. I would love to see a storyline of him not really coping with all of this very well and maybe developing anxiety issues or something along those lines.

The one thing I'm not so keen on is that with Ben Mitchell coming back at some point this year, it's inevitable that something is going to happen between them and they'll probably get together. Just really not a big fan of the idea of Johnny getting together with a murderer like Ben. Hopefully they've improved his character a bit so it won't be too unbelievable that Johnny would want to get together with him. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens but I just know the writers are going to go there; with Shirley hating Ben as much as she does, and all the Carter/Mitchell rivalry it's obvious that Ben and Johnny getting together will fuel a lot of dramatic potential.

LOL it is so weird. And Stan is now his great grandfather and Dean is his uncle! It's going to be so strange when all of this comes out. Can't wait!

actually, reading your post _elly001 makes me want to see some feelings developing between Johnny & Ben. Purely because it'll cause friction in the Carter household. And also to see more charactersation with Johnny. To know how he feels about Ben being interested in him- and a murderer.

can't wait to see who they've casted as Ben

I feel slightly better now that I know that Joshua Pascoe isn't returning as Ben but I think the casting of the character is important. If they can get an actor who is capable of being quite 'dark' while still being sympathetic then it might work. This sounds weird but I actually think Danny-Boy Hatchard would have made a good Ben, although I do think he's great as Lee (and I really hope Lee is coming back soon.)

And it will give Johnny something big to do which is great. I wonder if this is what Daran Little was talking about when he mentioned about Johnny's upcoming storyline.

I think my issue is just the fact that it's Ben. Really didn't like the character with his last two faces so I hope this time they get him right in terms of acting and writing.

Danny-Boy would've made a fantastic Ben imo. I love him as Lee, and I really want him to return!

i think you're right about Daran Little's tweet about Johnny's upcoming SL- that it was about Ben sharing scenes with Johnny. Hopefully.

It really has to do with the actor- and then the writing. atleast for me. I liked Ben when he was first onscreen back in 2006, and I didn't like him when Joshua took over the role. If they can get a charismatic actor with great writing, then it's gold

So hope they win!

@DaranLittle: Today is all about #EastEnders. First got a script to finish then off to Soap Awards. Maybe @Sam Strike @MrDDyer and me will win our award

It really would be amazing if they were rewarded for this incredible scene. Got all my fingers crossed.

Enjoy Johnny's scenes on Monday, everyone, because he's then not in it for the rest of the week or the one after that.

yes thank you to the writer rob gittins for writing those scenes with johnny tonight. i know, they were small scenes, but atleast it was plural and not a singular. i'm glad EE are showing that he goes to uni and taking exams

next month johnny will be featured in a SL concerning Sharon- and hopefully he'll get plenty of airtime because of it. Furthermore, writer Daran Little has tweeted about an upcoming SL for johnny. Perhaps it's the one with Sharon- or maybe an entirely different.

Hmm, seems I was mistaken about Johnny not being in next week's episodes - he's in it Tuesday. Not sure if I just missed his name on the cast list or if he's since been added but luckily for us he is definitely in it. And it's a Daran Little episode, yay.

Nice to see him working in The Albert and spending screen time with Dean and Tina.

And a video of the Carters at the BSAs:

I feel so sorry for Danny-Boy being out of shot for most of it! That's so rude of the cameraman. Sam and Maddy both look great.

Danny made a comment about how he'll be wearing his Christmas hat when the revelation about Shirley being his mum comes out. I'm not sure if he was joking or not, it sounded like he was, but people have taken it seriously so I guess maybe it could be true:
