I saw some negative comments about Johnny on the MF last night which made me a bit . I don't really understand how his reaction could have annoyed anyone. He did exactly the right thing, getting Linda to reveal her views like that and therefore making her see what a horrible person she's being for wishing he'd just play straight. I'd really hoped that by the end of the episode she would see how badly she'd been acting but it seems like she's more annoyed about being humiliated than anything else. It wouldn't surprise me at all now if she's the person behind the internet dating thing. She'll convince herself that she's doing the right thing, keeping an eye on how he's acting with men, but it's just going to be so frustrating to watch. I still think it's realistic, though. Even though I'm really angry with her character, I can see why they're still pushing this storyline. People like her don't change their views overnight.

I felt a little more sorry for Whitney but I don't think Johnny's reaction to her was especially mean or anything. At the end of the day, she didn't need to name him as the person she'd slept with, and I also don't see why she was offended by his comment about it ruining his life if she was pregnant. Johnny is gay and that's never going to change; getting a girl pregnant would have a massive negative impact on his life, not least because he's at university and he wouldn't be able to support her and the baby financially, so would need to drop out. I thought her taking offence was a bit short-sighted. He'd have said the same about any girl, not just Whitney. But yeah, I can't help feeling sorry for her as it's clear she's got a big crush on him. I don't think he's the only one that needs a boyfriend, she needs to get one too. (Can't help thinking that Lee might fit the bill when he comes into the show! )

I thought Sam's acting was great. I liked how he didn't massively blow up, just kept his anger simmering and full of tension. Also, on a shallow note, he looked so cute when he was brooding outside of Whitney's house. His face is so lovely.


So excited! I have a feeling he won't be in it much the week after next as he's not mentioned in any of the vague spoilers, so hopefully he'll be in plenty of scenes next week.

I want Lee with Stacey They could definitely be a powercouple/supercouple, but we'll see what DTC and the writers have planned for him, Lee that is... Maybe Dot's grandson could be for Whitney?

So are people actually angry at Johnny for the way he was towards his mother??? She felt humilitated for a moment sure, but that's nothing compare to how she makes her son feel- on a daily basis.

Perhaps not angry, but I did see a couple of comments on the episode thread saying that he annoyed them with his reaction. The majority of people sympathised with him but there were a couple of rogue detractors. I think some people are always quick to jump on what they perceive to be popular characters in order to bring people's views of them down a few pegs, but I was just surprised that anybody could have found his reaction to be unreasonable.

Imagine having a parent deny who you are, then admit they are ok with it and then conspire behind your back of trying to hook you up with women then leading back to denying who you are.

He had every right to act the way he did. You need to look at it from a young gay teen's perspective for goodness sake.

I love how we're all suffering from Johnny withdrawal symptoms after a few days without him. Considering Sam has just come back from a few weeks' break, imagine how we're going to be if he goes off-screen for more than a week.

When do the scenes with Johnny and the dating site air?

Tonight is Nancy and Whitney signing him up for it, tomorrow is when he speaks to this Walford Wonder person. There hasn't been any other spoilers beyond that but he's in the show all this week so there might be some follow up on Thursday.

Aww I loved the scene where Johnny turned around and casually looked at the phone, and seeing Whitney & Nancy smile , and then Johnny made the "why-the-heck-not" look to himself. I'm seriously loving him more and more- it's crazy lol I can see myself in him. Love how Sam is portraying Johnny!

Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" played in the background. Loved that!

Awww that was such a cute scene. I just don't get how anyone can be so adorable.

Also loved the bit where Whitney and Nancy were trying to decide which photo of him to put on. Can't remember who said what, but I think it was Nancy who was like "Don't you think he looks a bit... pretty in that one?" and Whitney replied "Yeah, that's the point." Really made me laugh.
