Johnny is in Monday, Tuesday and Thursday's episodes next week. He isn't in Friday's despite the rest of the Carters being in it.

Luisa and Sam tweeting each other today, sounding like they haven't seen each other in a while. Still no indication that Sam is doing any filming.

I've got it into my head that he's gone. I want to be proved wrong.

They'd have announced it, surely? I think he may just be taking a break.

I'll bet the reason he's not tweeting about "going to work/with cast members" is because he simply forgets. Not all actors who has twitter, tweets from work. It's not uncommon

EE Writer Pete Lawson was asked by someone on 5th Nov "@petelawson68 is Sam Strike currently on a break from eastenders?" to which he repled "Don't think so". Not sure why they'd ask a writer. Also I guess if someone leaves the writers wouldn't be allowed to say before it was officially announced. Maybe he's just having time off...

I think the person who asked Pete Lawson had asked a couple of the EE writers. I'm pretty sure I saw one like that to Daran Little as well around the same time. I guess if they weren't allowed to say then Pete just wouldn't have replied. Maybe it would be worth someone on here tweeting DTC to see? He does sometimes reply to fans on Twitter.

Whatever the case, if he has been off for all this time then it does still worry me, even if he hasn't left. Maybe Sam needed a break for a good reason that we don't know about, or maybe he's been going in on odd days. Those tweets from Sam and Luisa just worried me as it sounds like they've not seen each other at all recently.

Incidentally, the episode page for the Wednesday the week after next was accidentally put up on the BBC site - it's been taken down now but someone posted the cast list on the spoiler thread and Johnny is in that episode, so he doesn't disappear after next week like I thought he would.

I just watched Give Out Girls and it was very funny! Sam was extremely cute in it, and once again he proves he's got excellent comic timing.

On the positive side, if he has a long break it could just translate as 2-3 weeks off screen, which isn't unusual on EE. His fb page still says

Yeah its deffo the real one, coz most of its locked you can only see basic info and cover images. Plus the friends look like his family members etc.

I've tweeted Leo, Dom and EastEnders Press today about it but none of them have answered.

I've pretty much resigned myself to the worst at this point.
