yeah I've just read the little interview with him. So sad that she's never gonna be fully happy with her sons sexuality

I genuinely thought that she would eventually accept it completely, but maybe it's more interesting from a soap point of view to always keep some tension there. It's a shame, though. I loved Johnny and Linda's relationship before the coming out scene.

The video was sweet. He's so cute and awkward, bless him. I really don't think he looks like Conor Maynard, though! He's much better looking.

Just making my mark on this thread! I think he is gorgeous And I love his character! In fact, the whole Carter family (and Stacey) is the only reason that I have made a conscious effort to watch/record it every night (I never used to bother before). Love!

I also mainly watch for the Carters, though I am enjoying quite a few of the other characters (massive soft spot for David Wicks ) Not got much of an opinion on Stacey as I didn't watch EE properly when she was in it, but I always liked what I saw of her.

Welcome to the thread!! Always love when new posters post, lol! Ever since the arrival of the Carters, my interest in EE has increased. Don't get me wrong, I loved it before- yes, even under Kirkwood & Newman's eras, but now I feel like I did about EE before Kirkwood took charge. I simply LOVE the show again- and that is due to some fantastic writers, EP and the creation of my new favorite character, Johnny.
Soon, I'll have my favorite women onscreen (Stacey, Kat & Sharon )and new arrivals Lee & Dot's grandson to look forward to

I too also thought that Linda in time would be able to fully accept Johnny, but it does ring true that some parents aren't able to...

I was wondering about Lee as well. Maybe it's as you say, they think it's best if he's not in any pictures yet. Or maybe he isn't there with them? They might just be taking a break from filming, in which case maybe Danny-Boy isn't filming today. Suppose it could be anything! Would have been nice to see him though. Hopefully it won't be too long before we start seeing some pictures of him, other than the ones he did when his casting announcement was made.

It's really yummy, if you're into chicken. And most UK celebrities seem strangely fascinated with it. Although I think that's because Nandos occasionally give out 'gold cards' to prominent celebrities who eat there and talk about it on Twitter etc, which basically gives them unlimited food. Maybe that's what Danny Dyer was after.

I was wondering why they were even there at all as it's a bit random that they went out for a meal together. But it's nice, they seem to have really bonded as a family.

I got into EE when my mother started watching it around october 2001, so we watched the "You ain't my muvva" SL reveal. Pretty darn amazing! After that we watched every episode and has ever since. The show doesn't air on danish tv channels, but we have bcc entertainment so that's where we watch it. Me, I also watch the UK pace because today they aired the episode from Christmas Eve , they are so far behind, lol. I no longer live at home, but my mom and me still talk about EE, like "did you watch EE" so cool

It is nice that they go out for lunch together. A real family lunch, lol

Me and my mum talk about EE too, when we meet up. . She's watched it for years and years but I've always dipped in and out of it. I can't remember the last time I watched it as avidly as I'm doing right now, absolutely ages ago.

Johnny was so sweet tonight. Even though I think Lucy is annoying, I liked how he was thinking about her and went round to see her. That scene where he hugged her was really cute. I thought Danny's last scene was really lame, which is a pity. They could have made it a lot darker than they did. He'd have realistically been a lot more angry with Johnny than he was.

Also, I'm starting to worry a bit about Whitney. I think that she's developing more than a crush on Johnny... more like a fixation?! Thinking Johnny was going to take her out for valentines day, and that look when he hugged Lucy... I don't know, I think it's starting to go beyond an innocent crush. She must realise nothing is going to happen between them?

Finally got around to watch that interview with Sam on bbc's website. What a handsome sexy man. Seriously, I love that he had some facial hair, his haircut, how adorkable he was with those flowers- yes Sam, I'll be your valentine for sure , and I'll be looking forward to see a change in his wardrobe.

Ok how freakin sweet was Johnny in tonights episode?? He can see how upset Lucy is about Danny, so he brings Whit over to Ian's house with him to cheer Lucy up, even if he doesn't know her all that well. He then hugs her and by doing so showing her that he's there for her. Johnny is real friend, and I so love that about him

Speaking of Whit, I got that same feeling from her when she saw Johnny hugging Lucy. Do you guys think they would go that route with her, being obsessed with Johnny?

I did actually feel a little sorry for Johnny, when he watched the others play darts. They were all paired in two's, and even when Whit came in, she stood next to Tamwar with Johnny in the background. Felt a bit sad by that... Hope he finds someone soon..

Honestly, I'm glad Danny's gone now. Such a wasted character.

His voice is a bit rougher in real life so I can see why someone would think he smokes. I'm not bothered either way, I expect most actors smoke.


I think we're already starting to see the change in wardrobe. He hasn't been in a cardigan for ages. I think he's dressing a bit more 'stylish' and his hair looks different to how it did when he came into it. I have to admit that I wasn't that fussed about his hair in that video - it looked okay but I prefer how it is in EE with the fringe pushed forward. But obviously he's lovely looking however he styles himself.

It would be quite an interesting story, Whitney becoming obsessed/fixated with Johnny. I don't know if they were hinting at that last night but from the way she reacted to him and Lucy, it wouldn't surprise me. I kind of hope they don't, though, just because I like their friendship. Would be good drama, though.

Johnny episode update: he's in all three next week, and then in Thursday and Friday the week after that. Yay. . No specific spoilers related to him that I've seen, think he's going to be more of a background character. As long as he's on our screens, I don't mind.

Bit of a rant, but it really annoys me when I see rude tweets to Sam about the fact that he doesn't tend to reply to/follow fans. I just feel like he's clearly made a conscious decision not to use Twitter in that way, and some of his followers on there seem to have this sense of entitlement that makes them tweet not-so-nice things to him because he doesn't really interact with them.

I know it shouldn't bother me, and hopefully Sam just brushes off stuff like that, but he seems to be quite a sensitive person and if I saw stuff like that it would get me down. Maybe I just feel too protective over him, but ugh. I wish people would think before they sent him rude tweets.

Anyway, on a brighter note, looking forward to another week of EE with Johnny in every episode.
