So what happend to Johnny last night? I haven't watched the episode yet?

I'm glad it's not just me that feels that way. Honestly, I think I need to stop reading the replies to Sam's tweets as they nearly always annoy me.

I haven't watched last night's EE yet so don't know how much Johnny was in it. I'm guessing from the lack of reaction in here that it wasn't much. But I'm going to catch up this evening.

I think we're coming up to a bit of a dry spell with Johnny now that the Danny storyline has finished. He's not mentioned in any of the full spoilers for next week, either. I have a feeling the Carters (not including Shirley and Tina as they seem to have quite a lot coming up) might not get any big storylines now until Lee comes into it. I don't mind too much, as long as Johnny regularly appears in episodes (I would hate for him just to disappear off-screen for ages, that's the absolute worst) but I do hope they've got some good stuff planned for him within the next couple of months.

I checked the episode thread, but the posters there don't talk about the actual episode, lol. And I really don't want to read all the pages, so I'm just gonna wait until late this afternoon when I'm home

As long as he's featured in the cast list, then I'm ok he's not mentioned in spoilers, though I would totally love it! But I do understand, and like you said- the Danny SL is over, so there's bound to be some downtime for OUR guy

Can't wait for Lee to return, and see what comes next for Johnny!

Yeah, I find it really difficult to follow discussion in the episode threads. I usually just look at the first 8 or so pages but after that I tend to give up.

I wonder what IS next for Johnny? After the downtime, I mean. Will we get some development of his love life, family drama of some sort, or something else? What does everyone think/hope?

I just personally hope they don't leave it too long, especially in terms of his love life. I really want to see him getting a love interest. Think I'm getting a bit fixated on it.

I hope that after the downtime, we'll see Johnny meeting a guy, wether it be a customer in The Vic, or he has a crush on a guy at uni. He talks to either Whit & Nancy- or both, about the guy I would totally LOVE to see him go on a first date Yes, I've mentioned this before, but this is something I REALLY want to see, lol.

There's bound to be some kind of family drama. Especially since Stan, Aunt Babe, Dean & Lee soon will come into the picture more permantly. Let's just crosses our fingers, that no drama will ensue between Lee & Johnny because of his sexuality.

Yup, I don't mind family drama in the slightest (I love it, actually, especially when it involves the Carters ) but definitely keeping fingers and toes crossed that there's no animosity between Lee and Johnny. I'm interested to see how he will react, though, as between the rest of the Carters they've pretty much covered every possible reaction. I'd like it if he just sort of shrugged and was like "Yeah, I know, I figured it out ages ago," and that's it. I think that might not be dramatic enough for EE though.

Johnny looked even lovelier than usual in tonight's episode. I liked his little scene with Whit and Lauren, and I like that he isn't completely oblivious to Whitney's feelings for him (when he went to reassure her, you could tell that he realised she's a bit insecure.) But I'm still finding her feelings for him a bit worrying. I wonder if they're building up to something specific with this.

No Johnny/EE episode tonight, but thursday it's on for an hour

Last night's scene with Johnny and Whitney was really interesting and intriguing, do any of you guys think she might genuinely have feelings for him? I'm really curious to see how this plays out.

I think she's definitely got feelings for him, but how strong they are seems to be deliberately being held back. After all, she was the one to tell him that he needed to get a boyfriend, and she was happy to sign him up for internet dating. Weirdly, it seems to be other girls that she has an issue with him being friendly with. But I think we might see more jealousy from her when he does inevitably get a boyfriend. I think that's when reality will really hit her.

Yeah I agree, I'm really hoping she goes out with Lee though and if he has a problem with Johnny's sexuality (which I hope he doesn't), she can help him accept it and see sense, I think she actually needs someone right now as well. Johnny was adorable last night wasn't he, it was so sweet of him to say that to her, when he could see she was uneasy and possibly jealous.

I think Dot's grandson will be seeing Whit, and not Lee. I can't really explain it, just a feeling I've got. When Stacey is back and Lee enters the picture, I can see those two seeing each other.

I also get the feeling that Whit doesn't want Johnny to have other friends (Lucy, Lauren), she wants to be his only friend. The interesting thing will be, in case of Whit- is to see her reaction when Johnny starts to date. Is her jealousy only for him having friends, or does it run deeper??

I'm kind of hoping that Charlie Cotton will be a love interest for Johnny, as some people have been speculating. I don't know WHY people have been speculating that, though, other than that the actor is openly gay (but that obviously doesn't mean he has to play a gay character.) It would be kind of funny/evil if Whitney fell for him and he turned out to be interested in Johnny.

There seems to be a lot of different views about who Lee will get with. I think a lot of people like the idea of him getting with Shabnam, but there's also been discussion about him and Stacey, or him and Whitney, and Jac Jossa said in an interview that she would quite like Lauren to get together with him. Kind of feel a bit sorry for Lee already, he's going to be very busy if speculation on this forum is anything to go by.

I really have no clue if the Whitney and Johnny thing is heading for an actual storyline or if it will just be a long-running aspect of their friendship that she feels jealous when he's friendly with other people. Like you said, it will be interesting to see her reaction when Johnny starts dating. I kind of hope they don't take it into more obsessional territory, just because I like Whitney and I think it will make her very unsympathetic to viewers if she's making life difficult for someone as lovely as Johnny.

Johnny & Charlie getting together, I honestly haven't given that a thought, but now that you put that thought in my mind, I like it! I didn't know the actor is gay (Charlie Cotton). Nice

I like Whit much more under DTC than I did under Kirkwood & Newman, so I really want her to be happy. It'll just be too painful to see if she's got this big crush on Johnny and become very obsessed with who he should be with/have as friends.. Time will tell..

Yeah, I do like the thought of Johnny and Charlie. I can't help it, I would love to see Johnny with an older guy, and I would prefer him to be with a regular character who has their own storylines etc going on, not just brought in specifically to be a love interest (as those types of characters don't tend to have a lot of development outside of the relationship.) I don't think there are any regulars in the current cast who could conceivably come out as gay or bisexual at this point (apart from Aleks who is still pretty mysterious, but there have been enough hints that he's a ladies man, and I have a feeling he's going to get together with Ronnie.)

So if Johnny IS going to get together with a regular, I think it would need to be a new arrival, and of the new arrivals, only Charlie isn't related to Johnny. And he sounds like he's going to be interesting and mysterious. That's good enough for me.

But it's far too early to be speculating, I guess. Declan Bennett still seems to be performing in Once, so I doubt he's even started filming yet (though it did say in the original announcement that he was due to start EE in March, so I'm not sure what's going on there.) Anyway, I'm keeping a close eye on him.

Lol, Michael Ball and Michael Bolton's names do sound very similar, but as Michael Ball was in Les Mis it makes more sense (love that Johnny is up on his musical knowledge. )

I also loved the bit where Nancy said something about Ian being like Alan Partridge, and Johnny whacked her. They really are such realistic siblings.
