I have a Vodafone mobile and i heard that Sainsburys mobile runs on the vodafone network.

so would it let me put the sainsburys mobile sim into vodafone mobile like what giffgaff does with O2 where you can put a GG sim into a O2 mobile?

Yes it will. I've got an ex. Vodaphone phone, I was using it on Asda mobile but have now moved to Sainsbury's - all works fine.

vodafone hardly lock phones these days anyway.

IIRC all contract phones are unlocked, even if branded. and PAYG can be unlocked for free after a year or something.

Think I'll be doing that soon. Being without my Asda service for three weeks now following the switch from Vodaphone to EE. I'm currently on hold yet again to Asda Mobile as they promised by service would be back by today but it isn't.
